  • Hey Grandpa, What's fer supper?

  • Recorded this on a cass. in 1972 (The orginal one)

"The 50 year history of Country music 1922-1972"

    narrated by Hugh Cherry.

    "the Grandpa Jones story".

Bradley Kincaid gave him the name "grandpa".

  • Super Duper

  • @gt1kidd No, he is from Henderson County, KY

  • The man to the right of Grandpa Jones is playing a pre-war Gibson L-5 or Super 400, I can't see well enough to tell, but either way, it is worth A WHOLE LOT OF $!!!

  • @papawx3 It's not a Super 400 for sure.

  • i looovvvvvvvvve Grandpa Jones!

  • 1:10 lyly :D lülülülülü

  • Part 2) Country Music and Bluegrass Music back in the days wasn't all about the money as it is today. You HAD to have a special LOVE and APPRECIATION for the genre. Today's Country Singers (MOST but NOT all) care all about the fame and the money. They may be entertainers today but they were singers back in the days.

  • I'm a HUGE Country Music Fan originally from Brooklyn, NY and Country Music is my FAVORITE genre of Music, I JUST simply LOVE it! Recently I got into Bluegrass Music and I have to say that Grandpa Jones easily became my FAVORITE Bluegrass SInger! I LOVE his hyperness, enthusiasm, and it's clear to see his LOVE for the genre.

  • a romance era guitar, wow, Grandpa was getting deep into old fashioned music. way to go grandpy!

  • I once had the original 78 carbon record about 1946. Those records didn't last long around me. I also later got the sequel "I'm on my way Somewhere" Bet a lot of people forgot that one!!!

  • That guy pick'in the middle single lick sounds alot like Chet!!!

  • I had never seen Grandpa Jones play a guitar until I saw this. Thanks for posting!

  • I love it when he does that "yum yum yum" stuff in his songs.

  • Thanks for posting this!!

  • There will never be another Grandpa Jones. He's one of the great characters of all time - I love this song by him. I live 80 miles from Louisville myself. We faithfully watched Hee Haw and looked forward to seeing him and hearing him sing and pick. Thank you for this memory here. - Paula
