@aldocon03 Fur production requires transporting animals; removing animals’ waste; providing electricity for housing animals; slaughter process; use of pesticides, vaccines, and antibiotics; transporting carcasses; transporting pelts to auction; transporting them to a fur tannery , transporting tanned pelts to garment makers, wholesalers and retailers . When all these processes are taken into account, a fur garment takes far more energy to produce than a faux-fur or natural cloth garment.

Because our skin isn't good for insulation. Wearing leather/fur is actually very warming more than cotton. I can now see how barbarians were able to live in frigid temperatures wearing few scraps of fur and animal hide when i tried out my leather jacket.

PETA does provide, however, FREE of charge, a painless and HUMANE release to terminally ill and fatally injured animals whose guardians cannot afford this vet service.

For your information, PETA employees bring their pets to the offices, to book signings, to protests and demonstrations, and other official PETA business. @aldocon03 Fur production requires transporting animals; removing animals’ waste; providing electricity for housing animals; slaughter process; use of pesticides, vaccines, and antibiotics; transporting carcasses; transporting pelts to auction; transporting them to a fur tannery , transporting tanned pelts to garment makers, wholesalers and retailers . When all these processes are taken into account, a fur garment takes far more energy to produce than a faux-fur or natural cloth garment.

I'm not a vegetarian, nor do i agree with PETA 100%. I think eating animals as food is normal and acceptable, since we have been doing it since god knows when. But it is our moral responsibility to make sure that our cows, fish, and other animal friends die a very painless death. Fur, on the other hand, is a gruesome trade. @goeland70, SPCA's are in the business of sheltering animals, it's what they are supposed to do.
PETA is an animal rights organisation, not a shelter, nor do they have a facility where homeless animals can be humanely housed, cared for and re-homed. PETA does provide, however, FREE of charge, a painless and HUMANE release to terminally ill and fatally injured animals whose guardians cannot afford this vet service.

@trappedinasylum For the most part, I agree with you, but they were being unprofessional and immature this time. PETA's main problems are about picking their battles and showing only the facts without excessive sensationalism. They uncover a lot of what's wrong in the meat and fur industry, but they make themselves look like maniacs in the process. I think it's possible to do the former without doing the latter.

Yes I think that all these Peta people actually think it is their god given right to harass people at fashion shows and to deface private property in the name of animals.
It's a pity they dont actually go out and help an animal that really needs help. Instead they just go out and make arseholes of them selves.

@donkeymasternr1 evolution designed your mouth dumbass. our mouths are filled with sharp teeth AND molars to take advantage of different food sources in order to survive. we are omnivorous. do not get me wrong, if we eat meat we shud respect the lives of the animals we eat and treat them well wen they're alive, and there are BIG problems with that in our society (food inc) but again, u shud not harrass someone who wants to eat what is nutritious for them. animals eat other animals.

The fact that she is a public figure doesn't mean that she's gonna influence people to use fur coat that came from animals that are pounded on the head and skinned alive. She doesn't have to worry about setting example or either be conscious about how those animals where brutally killed...she's just a spokes model with no choice but wearing them, right?
