He was funny, entertaining, talented, honest & thought provoking. He is one of my favorite MCs & Producers of all time. Oh ok this is just a year ago. cause Im listen to these younger guys and they are really doin their thing and creating their own style. There are so many West Coast styles out there.
As far as mainstream goes the guys who have the most potential of actually making it is Pac Div, Nipsey, Dom Kennedy, & U-N-I, just to name a few. As far as just dope emcees. Blu seems to shine the most. I mean Blu is young but got a soul like a 40 year old. So I think DJ Quik is thinking in terms of old skool.

Dj quik has been big and he is the other Dr. Dre. Remember he has been steadily making music since 1991. Then there is the Dj quik aka David Blake who produced songs in the huge All Eyes on Me album by 2pac. Ii have his whole collection. But remember there are a lot of artist or underground artist who make something but dont keep up or last long becuz once they have the money they start acting stuck up and have their nice cars and forgot about what their work is.

But right now, I believe I can say, Quik is another Dre, prolly better.

Quik is the one of the most talented and enlightened people to emerge from the West Coast Hip Hop scene. He is about music and art, and he is street smart. I have always respected him as a producer and said so to people of all walks of life and musical tastes no matter what they said against me. We need more people like Quik in the music industry. He is vastly overlooked by the mainstream.
