pirating is bad. however, getting portal for free isn't (or wasn't because the offer is no longer availible) illegal because vavle was working through steam to give out portal for free for educational purposes or something like that. glad i got it for free! :D

Anyway, you can't stop pirating, it's always been around, it empirically has little effect on the industry as a whole, or any particular company for that matter, any decent pirates will buy a game they like, and without pirating, I wouldn't even know what VALVe was, let alone the Portal series.

@Mesina2 I make up for my downloading by making these contributions to the movie industry, I watch a lot of movies in the cinema, and movies i really like, i get on DVD, But if its a movie (or game) i am a little iffy about, i will pirate it,

(though i dont usually download games because they do not update and multiplayer does not work... usually)

Portal On Mac = Best thing to happen to computer gaming in years. Hopefully Portal 2 for Mac flies and proves to other companies that yes, Mac users matter, and yes, some of us like video games.

(I'd say I can't play more like 50% though, since I'm a console nerd. xD)
