One issue I have found... If the user does NOT press on the close button but presses a new video button it can appear that the video does not load because the vids are actually overlaid.
Whats needed is a popup close when the user presses the video button BUT you cant seem to do this because you are already linking to the new popup (Xara limitation)
Hope this is clear??
I may add instructions for my users to press the close before trying any other vids.
Thank you Xhris for doing this again. Finally got it up and going, thanks to you. Just the fade doesn't seem to be working yet. Is there a fade in command as opposed to just (fade 1)?
@SoferOnSite Fade is officially supported now in V7 (see my V7 videos), but the commands still work and give you more control. The new V6 web feature video discusses the details.
Thanks for responding. I was only going by what I heard from XARA's tech support! If you can do YouTube video popups with fadesin Web Designer Premium 7, that would be great! Please confirm. I also have seen these links: sledger.magix.net/public/vlbox/ or xara-users.info/demos/video-light-box/index.htm
@RSGSofer Hi, yes, it is possible to do fading videos in V7 (the video above demonstrates how). For further useful information, I would recommend Talkgraphics, xaraxone, my website and youtube, and the official xara website.
@XaraXhris Oh, I should just add that this is officially supported in the premium version of WD7, but not the basic version apparently! Although I can't confirm that the basic version doesn't support it unofficially with the "(fade)" command in the layer name. WD6 did, so presumably you can still do it.
Unfortunately XARA Web Designer Premium 7 (latest version) can not do fades with popup videos. Even to put PopUp videos is not easy. Would really love to see an easy way to implement Popup Videos in X-WD7. It would be great if there was a simple way using "VideoLightBox "
@RSGSofer This is nonsense. I just tried it and it works *exactly* the same. Putting popup videos in website is very simple as the video shows: just put the html placeholder for the video on a popup layer, link with a button and done.
thanks i give you a 5 star and could you please show me how to create my own video player in xara with full screen option. because when i drop a video i cant watch it in full screen.
@davidhonore There is only 1 player in Xara when you drag-drop an mp4 into the document, and it does not have a fullscreen mode. There may be 3rd party widgets that can be used, but I'm not aware of any. Using YouTube is a possible workaround.
Thanks Chris, you have been a real life-saver with your tutorials. Xara Web Designer is so much easier to use than Dreamweaver that it is really hard to believe that people still use Dreamweaver. I have never been able to create a usable website with DW even though I have looked at 6 books on DW and watched the tutorial on lynda.com for 12+ hours and also on adobe.tv.
Hey Xhris, is there a way to embed a playlist as well?
