hello lick library, I just wanted to know if you guyz are going to do a steve morse lick library ? His chromatics scales and crazy licks might be not only interesting for me to learn but for many people :) I'll be honored if you guyz respond to my comment : Btw, I love you guyz, the lick lbrary team is perfect !
@HolyGK Hi there, thanks for getting in touch - We unfortunately dont have any plans from a Steve Morse DVD. But you can get your suggestions over to us in our forum. The more popular your post the more likely it will be seen. If you havent been to our site - head over - sign up and sign in to the forum section then add your suggestion in. Any problems give us a shout back! All the best!
i always thought that EMG's for metal. Now I feel like a race horse who only sees the way he's about to run. You opened my mind with this wonderful solo.
my question is, on this performance, what is the approach? in other words, what scales are being used here> what background chords are playing? I cant tell the crazy phrasing is too much for me, its all over the neck, can someone tell me?
i'm just curious how one would go about transcribing something like this or composing it.
@Luke650, Come on man! Mike Caswell does an EXCELLENT job conveying lots of Luke's "signature/go-to" lead ideas (cleverly demonstrated here over Toto-like backing-tracks similar to "Hold The Line," and "Roseanna" BTW!) Mike uses a "similar-to-Luke's-wet-lead-sound!" and does a decent job of copping Luke's huge/aggressive finger-vibrato and bending-technique too, IMO!
No it AIN'T Luke's EXACT FEEL, because he ain't Luke - LOL! Put on your Toto CD's to truly "cop-the-feel!"

heliobluesrock 10 months ago
@jockerj . It's not hold the line, it's something Casswell wrote which sounds similar but not the same as hold the line.
