I really like your vids... a more practical approach than most people have. Though... I just do not understand why you did not use this "parabolic" mirror insteat of the black hose to heat water. It would require a bit of wiring and a step motor, but it would be great and it seems it could be really efficient. I was surfing a bit and a factory actually uses this approach to power a steam generator... that means preheating water to the boiling point.

How did you get the plexiglass into a parabolic shape?

The problem is that solar panels take about 30%, in eficiency, and steaming engines takes just 40%. In theory steaming engige could get almost 100%, but no device ever came close to that, and most take just 35% to 40%.

Sunglasses should always be worn near parabolics because of the danger of retina burn from being flashed. One should never ever approach a parabolic in the front, it can cause permanent eye damage and blindness.

Parabolics should be used with extreme care and ALWAYS with eyeprotection.

Great video, but everyone needs to understand, these things can and WILL blind you.
