'Cowboys And Angels' is my personal favorite song from his marvelous album "Listen Without Prejudice, Vol.1" - deep lyrics, great sound, emotional performance. Everything is great here. George is real unbeatable Legend
This is my favorite song by George Michael. The music and his voice and the words, are so subtle, eloquent, mysterious, nostalgic, all of it spilling out like water on soft blue memories and black & white mindscapes -one can never get enough..
The change at the end ..'please be stronger than your past, the future may still give you a chance...' brings us to wonder what peace is like ..and what's peace like in the arms of someone who truly loves you for you....
17 years have come and gone, and still I remember this song and the feelings it elicits. I am glad I was given the name of the song, somehow I had forgotten it.
@michaelcsm right on,, it's great.. i remember hearing Wham! and thinking 'bubble gum' pop music ... he created a couple of super albums after that period
A single Kahlua and coffee's whipped cream melts to a fuzzy Rita Tushingham movie at 4am, cigarette ember burning low in a smoke-filled cafe' somewhere in Paris. Thinking of Dusty Springfield's "Just A Little Lovin'" and B movies of the 70s. It doesn't get any better.
GM explained the reason or the meaning of this song way back in 2004....the old 3 person relationship..as already explained sooo well by martley1...one of my faves too, along with a certain J Timberlake...shame he didn't take any notes when it came to writing from this song...lol..its a shame no video(official) was ever attached to this, but thats all to do with the GM/Sony battle that cost him and his fans prob his peak powers..but hey,who knows...what is mean't to be is mean't to be,and all that
I remember when this album came out... I loved it and I wasn't even a George Michael fan at the time... I used to listen to this song ALL the time ... I've never seen this video, either!!! Wow!
I always liked this song because the keyboard sound in the beginning was the same one I was usually using all the time back then.... Sweet!
This song does have a nice, I'd say '40's not '50's jazz vibe, but more than anything conjures images of beautiful, rugged men and how only other super hot guys get them; groveling over a guy who's way too hot for you whom other men give whatever he wants...a guy who himself has great luck with super hot guys . There should have been an official video and it should have been all-male, and had more of a Brokeback Mountain feel to it, except with more golden brown dusty scenery in bright sunshine
This song is GREAT !! This is George Michael at his best....not slopping out a cover or singing "out of his genre" at all - this is his "groove" - this kind of song is where he's "topper man". :) Yes...classic foggy night 1950's jazz Age feel to it. :D It's retro and yet modern contemporaneously. :D
Although this video is very 1991, the song really is a surprise from George Michael. Heartfelt and haunting in its way...and it was one of mine and my soon to be ex-wife's favourites.
I feel so much.... this song really really touches me... i cannot explain.. the jazzy-sexy vibe, how he flows out these wonderfull lyrics.. damn.. aaah i dunno.. i listen everyday to this song for over 2 years...its madness
Just listen closely to the lyrics to this song. It says so much about George before he even came out. It is evidently about a relationship he was in with a woman, and she loved him, but he couldn't give her what she wanted. George was evidently looking beyond the confines of his straight life at this point. It is an intensly personal song that anybody gay or straight could relate to...it speaks about human emotion all wrapped up in a an emotive tune. And that is why George is so good.
I would really appreciate it if you could explain the meaning of this song, I tried to figure it out but failed... when talking about a man he said "Mister", and the woman was referd to as "sister"
Listen closley and you will see that this song is split into two parts. The first is about George exploring his sexuality in relation to another man, but that the man is not responding. George is saying that the one he wants he can't get hold of. In the second part he is talking about a relationship he is having with a woman, and how she wants him but he can't give her what she wants. He says 'you're not to blame'. The song is about George's self discovery. A beautifuly emotive song.
Thanks alot for explainning, and I am really sorry that I pressed Spam instead of Reply, I just don't know what to do in order to remove the spam! I tried to give the comment a thump up but it did't help removing the spam, so thank you very much and sorry again

One of my favorite singers of all time. I have been to his concert and believe me that was amazing. So pure, so talented damn his Live performance was so good. Georgios !!
Everything in this song was great..lyrics,melody,vocal,distribution..george is realy a legend..im sorry he distroy him self as if he was revenge from himself..realy strange!
I shot it on film about 15 years ago. I did it with a small crew on my own. George Michael wasn't involved, although I did send it to his record company. I just loved the song, so I wrote and shot the project.
