Wrong, imbecile. Look up "Scientific Theory", you'll find it is far different than the word "theory" in common parlance. It is NOT a hypothesis, or something waiting to be "proven", it is the highest form of certainty that science proclaims. You know, little things like cell theory, germ theory, and the theory of gravitation. These, along with the Theory of Evolution, are things that help humanity progress.

The problem with McCain is that he is indeed a maverick.

Being a maverick is excellent if you're a gunslinger living in the american southwest in the late 1800's.

BUT not if you want to steer the airplane of our country into the future with thundering storm clouds all around.
