Cows (Bos taurus) are 80% genetically similar to humans, so is this a surprise to see? The other question is, are cows similar to humans, or are humans similar to cows? That is a question that is commonly answered by arrogance.
Tara the cow... no doubt has a lucrative career, following this television exposure, as a consultant to the tobacco industry on how to survive in the recession...
Having grown up in a rural area, I can attest that cattle are quite a bit more intelligent than we often give them credit for. I've seen them use their hooves to break up pumpkins into more managable pieces before eating them. They recognize people who they've seen before, and can even be trained-for example, to run in a circle or carry a rider like a horse.
Oh, never mind rjs1n, that's just another one of our "not-so-bright" voters that elected the even less smarter previous president, twice! I guess that's where they get the saying, Stupid is as Stupid does.
They probably get turned into dog food when they get to old to produce milk. By that time they would be to tough to be good for humans to eat (meat cattle are slaughtered right at adult hood.) and these are not meat grade animals to begin with. We never eat them but Rover probably does.
pity on her, she looks very hungry, but she is smart, it was difficult for her to reach the handle, so the place to be touched first is her eyes, hope her eyes are ok. love her. that is why i dont eat beef. sooo cute.
Our surprise at this is yet another example of how the human race does not credit the rest of the animal kingdom. In this case probably because we don't want to feel guilty when we eat them.
that not the only thing they can do...people they don't like get there feet crushed by being stepped on, something they won't do to someone they like...

Dairy cattle are eaten only when they are no longer economically viable for milk because of diseases.

It's a cow. They were designed that way. Cows wouldn't make it long in the wild. They'd go extinct more than likely.
HitodamaKyrie 2 years ago
Unfortunately you are right, that is all true but, It's still no excuse for exploitation.
