  • your lessons are excellent.one suggestions can you have the bols written as the case of the initial lesson while uploading the video thanks

  • I have been learnng tabla from my tabla guru who used to be music teacher in school in bharatpur india, he has never told me those bols which you r telling now in youtube lessons it made me bit skeptical but i hope tht i assume them right and learn something out of it. swarn

  • This is pretty correct... This happens because they're so many different Gharana's (houses/style) you may have learned indian style and that is why....

  • @goldentoy7 its a variation to kherwa. notice how when its playing fast it sounds almost the same as da ge na ti na ke dhin na.

  • new bols in kaherwa has amazed me, i assume them right.

  • Mr. venkat (MY GURU) after finishing your 10 lesson on you tube and practising daily finally i am heading towardsmy goal to be a good table player In a year or so.

I wish i send "GURU DAKSHINA " to you. MANY MANY THNKS AND WILL BE GREAT FUL TO YOU DURING MY WHOLE LIFE.

  • This is great! Does anybody teaches Bansuri? I play bansuri by the ear, but would love to get into, well at least light classical.

  • dhi tha na na, ti tha dha na

    This is CORRECT

  • Dhe Te Tha Tha

    The Dhe Dha Tha

Is this rite? or wrong venkat?

  • well done Venkat - very good sound & control .

  • can't u play faster 3x the speed

  • thanks four this lesson, I am from colombia, not is easy learning playing the tabla.

  • its

Dhi Ta Na Na Tha Dha Na

  • I'd like to go on with the next lesson but I don't have the correct syllables for lesson 7. Could someone please post them here in the comments. Aloha.

  • it is very generous of you to teach slowly i tried searching in your tube but all other videos are very fast, guess they want to show their talent.. You r the only who have showed how to play tabla for begineer.... Thanks and please update more of your videos......

  • What happened to the syllables? I thought Tee was the muted strike outside of the dot... but Tee also seems to be two middle fingers with a muted strike on the dot? Confusion. None the less I thank God for Venkat. Aloha.

ps- I'd gladly develop your "bad habits" to play as well as you.

  • one is te one is tee the tee is the one in tiriketa....,

  • awesome!

  • i leared when i was kid now i started again i am confused , which bols (taals) play with kirtan do u know please help me VENKAT !!!

  • whoever created this instrument should be worshipped.gives amazing beats.

  • good job ur doing here on youtube...

    ur fingering is good..

nw i feel like u need to talk abt fingering with ur students..

i'll see how u do or if u dont i'll talk on it...

  • Can you post the syllables for this beat? Thanks!!! Keep up the great work...

  • I LOVE YOUR BOLS VENKAT!!!

  • why is everyone complaining? he says the letters a thousand times at the beginning, just grab a pen! these lessons are extremely helpful. I got samples of tabla drums and I'm trying to make the beats sound authentic and realistic, you have helped A LOT! THANK YOU!

  • please add the written letters to the description, that would help a lot.

  • Though your playing lacks clarity and precsion, I must say that I have learned some thing new! Many thanks, keep on uploading more please.

  • Nice beat to play. But have listen to what your saying and then you are playing it a bit different. Which can get a bit confusing for someone who going to learn of this video.
