thank you for replying to my comments about that fabulous record. the violins backing up helen made the arrangement orchestration high class and i was exstatic with the violin arrangement. i hate benny goodman because he ruined quality minor key operatic arrangements with what i hate s w i n g. helen was great as a singer but the orechestration behind her made her greater. belle baker whom i discovered by mistake on youtube is also great. @rogharm Helen was probably the best torch singer of the 20s and 30s. There is sweetness and sadness in her voice. I'm glad you enjoyed. She's one of my favorite female vocalists.

@rogharm Her biography indicates that she did have vocal lessons at the Metropolitan Opera School, but her voice was more suitable for the cabaret and theatre.
