@braseldazzle No, it's completely non-toxic and the mixture in-fact is also non-toxic and you can even eat it, although I wouldn't recommend it, it's perfectly safe to ingest and the cloud of smoke it produces is too. The only danger about the smoke would be if you just stood in it breathing the smoke because depriving your lungs of oxygen is not a good thing.

Ok really sweet video, It helped me alot in my production of making a pull ring smoke grenade, lol we had to use stump remover for the potassium nitrate, but the thing is, the grenade itself would catch fire and eventually make a huge burn mark and mess, and I see in your video that you were even able to hold on to it, what exactly did I do wrong?

@pyromaniacmen here's what you do. they dont sell saltpeter any more cuz ppl used it for this. Go to lowe's and but Spectracide brand stump remover. its a powder. almost straight Potassium Nitrate (saltpeter). enjoy.

i just did this and ended up smoking my school lab when mixing potassium nitrate with sugar...u just gotta be super carefull !! its better for u to melt the sugar first before mixing with potassium nitrate,soda then the dye powder...

Whats the smoke mixture¿?

60g Potassium Nitrate (Salt Peter)

40g sugar

Mix in a pan a LOW heat ( be careful)

then add

1-3 Large table spoons of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda)

and stir some more

Finally put it in your grenade and leave to set or if you want add dye in the same way as the baking soda and do the same

Thats it roughly

@kboy229 no, it's not toxic. but you still don't want to inhale a lot because too much will cut off you oxygen supply and cloud your lungs, literally, with smoke. In short, yes you can inhale, but don't take in too much (few seconds of exposure is fine). But if you create a smoke bomb/grenade with the ping pong ball idea, DON'T INHALE THAT SMOKE. Plastic and rubber smoke is always toxic.
