For the movie "The Next Three Days" it was this music (The Truth) that stood.....awesome tune......and I wasn't surprised a heavy hitter like Danny Elfman did the music for this movie

I totally adore Russell Crowe and this film is fabulous...I just finished watching it and can't believe the critics were so unflattering what is their effing problem with Crowe? He's one of the best actors around and not bad to look at either...love him!

Actually I do think they understand music.The Academy governors consist of film makers and FILM COMPOSERS. I dont think the Academy looks at the musicality of the score but rather how it works in the film.I don't think TSN was the Best score but it certainly was effective.And, on top of that, they're usually going to nominate a score that has more hype(TSN) rather than a movie that did terrible at the box office and not so hot with critics(TNTD).So, it is partly political.
