@DerSchnurrbart LOL! you cant stare at the sun, scientists dont use those naked eye telescopes where you look at the sun through a piece you would go blind! they use special telescopes that detect the different UV rays and stuff like that. I think Galileo went blind for studying the sun to much.

No, they didn't put out his eyes, although I confess myself amused by the prospect. One must inject a measure of humor into historical events for the sole purpose of making history more interesting. You know what kids are like these days; apathy runs deep in the ranks. If the Inquisition put out his eyes, it sounds a hell of a lot more interesting than cataracts. There is lying and then there is embellishing. I suppose neither is very good, but as I mentioned, apathy is alive and well.
