  • I remember being so upset when I heard he'd died. I remember how, after seeing Jurassic Park as a kid, I began reading Crichton's novels a few years after. I grew up reading his stories. What great writer...he'll be sadly missed.

  • His stories will live on

  • IS JURASSIC PARK REAL!?!?!?!?

  • @BeauBayh yea

  • I was four years old when I saw this in theatres with my Dad, Jurassic PArk really blew me away, it today remains my favorite movie, it really inspired my imagination as a kid.

Thank you Crichton for the inspiration

  • I was so sad when I found out that he died. There'll never be another story teller like him again.

  • Dennis Nedry ... Dennis ... NERDY .... FINALLY! I finally get it, after like 17 years!

  • we should genetically engineer him from extinction. just make sure he doesn't mate with other crichtons though. that would suck.

  • You might also like the works of J. Richard Singleton:

  • skip adds ftw

  • Like no shit, i just now because of his video found out Michael Crichton is dead. I'm shocked. For real, I'm really shocked

  • till we met again,R.I.P

  • Crichton - Awesome... Never gets the attention and respect he deserves

Spielberg - Overrated... Gets way to much attention

  • R.I.P Michael Crichton. He was a great author. And Jurassic Park was my favorite. Jurassic Park 4 should be made in his memory.

  • @gurneyman100 I agree.

But if they do make a 4th one, have another T-Rex vs. the Spinosaurus and make the Rex the winner, and take those damn feathers off the Raptors! Am I right?

  • @WeylandYutaniInc91 No, the raptors need feathers. Or there will be another heated arguement over the inaccuracy of the raptors. There has been enough arguements over JP3.

  • @TheDinozRule No they don't, Velociraptors are inaccurate as it is, Raptors are only three feet tall so what difference does it make? So if they're going to be inaccurate then make them the way they were when the series began instead of making them ugly like in JP3.

  • @WeylandYutaniInc91 Ya, I know. They should be only 1.8m long. But they are not ugly, it's just that u have very bad taste.

  • @TheDinozRule I do not! I like Raptors the way they started out, they were fine the way they were in Jurassic Park and The Lost World like how Steven Speilberg made them, instead Joe Johnson (the director of JP3) had to change their colors, put a bump in their snout, and give them feathers!

I love the Velociraptors of Jurassic Park, even though they are fictional Dinosaurs. I don't have bad taste, what is so wrong with liking the ORIGINAL design instead of the crappy new one?

  • @WeylandYutaniInc91 k, u don't have bad taste. But u shouldn't say its crappy, i don't like it either but u could be hurting the feelings of other people out there. Maybe they like the new design. So let's stop our conflict here, shall we?

  • @TheDinozRule People hurt my feelings on a daily basis people need to get over that.

I'm just saying, changing the design of the Raptors different from the first two like changing their colors, putting a bump in their snout, and putting feathers on them is like putting a mustache on the Monalisa.

  • @WeylandYutaniInc91 well, i like it with feathers and where i come from, we try not to hurt other people''s feelings.

  • @WeylandYutaniInc91 well, i like it with feathers and where i come from, we try not to hurt other people's feelings.

  • @TheDinozRule Well where I come from we think the feathers was a stupid idea. And we take Speilberg's design over Johnson's.

Again, people hurt my feelings on a daily basis, big diff. I listen to people who disagree with me all the time and I get sick of it too. You know what i do, I ignore it.

  • @WeylandYutaniInc91 Even if u hate the feathers, u should keep it to yourself, not post it on Youtube where the whole world can see.

  • @TheDinozRule I can do if I want, it's called freedom of speech, you should butt out.

  • @WeylandYutaniInc91 argh! who cares. We'll end this conversation and pretend nothing happened.

  • @WeylandYutaniInc91

Jurassic park 4 NEEDS the ''Tyrannosaurus Rex'' back... JP3 sucked without him....

  • @WeylandYutaniInc91 you are soo right especially the feathers although i think they added them to follow on with archeology when specialist say that the raptor is a bird like creature

  • .... I think I know how to bring him back

  • @blablaidontcarewhour His, uhh, theory with Jurassic Park, sadly, was disproved by arrogant biologists... and I think Micheal Crichton would want his rest asking God how did he do it?

  • A sad loss, what a tremendous man and an asset to inspiration to children and adults across the globe, even the films based on his books would have been nothing if it wasn't for his role in helping direct them alongside spielberg. His ideas are so well educated and magical and I think even his books beat the films made from them. If anyone hasn't read any of his books, get onto it. Jarassic park, the lost world and Airframe are my three favourites. Jarassic park is much better as a book than a

  • They where working on Jurassic park 4 at the time of his death so they all stopped the production of jp4's releasably date of 09, but they started back up and it's coming this 2012

  • the moment i stopped watching jurassic park was the moment he died

    I hate myself now :'-(

  • I wonder how special he must have spelt...making a New York Times Bestselling book that sparked a whole new faction of culture, and the greatest movie of all time with the greatest soundtrack of all time. I could read his book over and over and not get tired. The man was a genius.

  • R.I.P. One of my favorite authors. Amazing books like Jurrasic Park, Airframe, The Andromeda Strain... His books will live in forever.

  • I... had no idea he died... in 2008! I think I'm shocked...

  • This man was kinda like the H.G. Wells of our time. Could compare the Time Machine to Jurassic Park as far as hit ideas.

  • Michael Crichton is WAY BETTER than Stephen King...

  • @096giovadale amm its personal preference who you like better, non the less i agree with you.

  • @eminemforlifenoshit yes you reason

  • @096giovadale what ?

  • @eminemforlifenoshit sorry, you're right

  • Rest in Peace, Micheal.

I wish I could've met you, but there's always Site B. Your books inspired me and made me the writer I am today. I'll never be as good as you, but you and your books will always hold a special place in all our hearts.

-See You on the Other Side,

    Sarah

  • Jurassic Park has probably been my favorite movie since it came out when I was 2. I got me into dinosaurs so much so that paleonology has been one of my major studies throughout my life and it would be an easy field for me to get into. But even still, I think the Novel was twice as good as the movie, story-wise anyway. Steven Speilberg's Effects Team's dinosaurs will forever be untouched. But I wish Speilberg would've made the film more like the book.

  • Rest In Peace master

  • if there is a JP4 it better be PRETTY DAMN GOOD

  • Crichton was amazing. I wonder what he would have thought of the new Prehistoric Channel? My gut tells me he would have loved it.

  • I remember when he died, it was the week of the presidential election when Obama got elected. I didn't even know he was dead until someone posted R.I.P. Michael Crichton on facebook, checked it out and it turned that he died that day. And I was like, damn what a freakin shame that such a great writer (one of my favorites) and such a brilliant guy (if I remember right he went to Harvard Medical school) has his death completely overshadowed by the freakin election. R.I.P. Michael Crichton

  • What a big lost.

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

  • Michael Crichton 1943 - 2008

  • RIP master

  • R.I.P.

  • is it just me or does this guy remind u of peter griffin from family guy lol

  • I hope "next" comes out to the movies

  • The part part of me that always loved dinosaurs died alittle when I heard that Michael Crichtion had died

  • State of Fear is a terrible book

  • Hope they make 4.

  • O my God, he died so young....

One of the best writers ever! RIP, sir....

  • His death brings the question. Will they still make a Jurassic Park 4? I hope so.

  • ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! :*( Omg... I am going to miss his phenomenal writing... What a great man ><.

  • i love jurassic park

  • He's not gone forever...we just need his DNA to make a genetically formed Michael Crichton. :D

  • he got the cncer after got raped in the jeep what

  • @yonny1994 well jurassic park 3 was written after his death

  • I miss your books Michael, I read them all and they were fantastic!

  • I loved the Jurassic Park books. Rest in peace Crichton!

  • Crichton is just like his dinos, a once in a life time event. but he lives on in spheres, apes, timetravel, viruses, and any other book he has made. but there's always site B. :)

  • :( I didn't know that he died...:(:(:( The Jurassic Park is a 100% great dinosaur show film:):):)

  • rip

  • just finished jurassic park. definitly the best book i ever read now im going to read congo

  • @JackHammerSlam12

Don't forget to read The Lost World!

BTW, when you say one of Crichton's novels is the best book you've ever read, that always changes when you read another one of his novels!

  • I'm reading Jurassic park now and I gotta say it is verrrrrry gooood. As good as the movie. We'll miss you Crichton

  • the first novel is better than film but 2nd one isnt as good as film R.i.p Micheal

  • JP's the best movie ever, the novel is...the same as the film...the second (which im reading btw) isnt that good...

  • The Lost World was an alright book i read it before i read the first jurrasic park book and thought it was great but after reading jp 1 i knew it wasnt as good , maybe its becuase crichton hadnt ever written a sequel before lol

  • yah ur rite lol.

  • @CrimsonNineTail

Yea it's a lot darker/bloodier/ different than the movie. Skip The Lost World novel. IT SUCKED !!!!!!

  • @Leo240sx Yeah in the book they mention intestines being pilled and the like. Well The Lost World novel could have been better, but I still liked it.

  • @CrimsonNineTail when did he die?

  • @CrimsonNineTail the books are better. you know it.

  • @CrimsonNineTail Yep... Crichton - one of the best writers of all time... and... Spielberg - one of the best directors of all time.

  • @CrimsonNineTail

you mean better than the movie, right?

if they made the movie like the ORIGINAL book, the movie would be over three hours, maybe even made in two parts, and it definetly would be rated R.

    don´t get me wrong.

i LOVE the movie / movies.

but the book is more detailed, has more dinosaurs and more action in it.

it´s no coincidence that you´ll find different strands of the original book in all three JP movies.

same here with "THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK".

    the book´s better.

  • @CrimsonNineTail I just started readin the lost world and cant keep on thinking how good will the first one´ll be when I´ll just get a hold of it (sry I live live in finlandI)! And of course now when midlle of the 2nd book, cant help wondering "if they fucked with the nro2 movie THIS much, what was the 1st book like??" kinda scary yet fascinating ;)

  • thank you crichton

  • lmao dino man gone, kids say the funniest things

  • noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • o yes.

  • my litle brother said dino man gone? i almost cried.

  • the dinosaur man is gone :(!!!

  • M. Crichton was a master!!

    Long life!

That lives Jurassic Park, The Lost World, Timeline, Prey, State of Fear and all those wonderful works of art that our magnificent Master of the Literature realized.

    Long life!

  • timeline was a awesome book. i hate to say it but the movie sucked!!!

  • there goes jurassic park 4 he was an amazing Arthur and i loved his books

  • Not really. The third one wasn't based off one of his books.

  • i stand corrected there is a chance left for jurassic park 4

  • Author

  • oh bite me

  • dont tempt me ;D

  • lol :)

  • my god is he dead? im so sad now... he was always the best writer of these films and i like those movies based on his book.. R.I.P micheal crichton

  • R.I.P M.Crichton

  • another one of my heros is dead ;_; i'll miss you most of all michael

  • Man I hope that someone can create the next JP movie... =( I've been waiting for like two years cause of that damn Writer Strike and all.... But now have to wait till next year...

  • they're not making it...and for the better cuz it would suck complete ass if it was made. Jurassic Park was a master peice, and the decline begane with the lost world, the JP3 which was a complete crapfest

  • is that the guy who acted as DR. Allen Grant?

  • Naaah that was Sam Neil

  • damn i liked jurasic movies i want another ten new movies :(

  • me too i love dinosaur movies

  • Well you might be in luck. Jurrassic Park III wasnt based on a crichton novel like the first two were. That might be why it was awful in comparison the first two films

  • fUCK NO JP4..

  • oh please...there wasn't even a written JP3

  • this sucks so much. I always wanted to meet Crichton. I wanted to tell him how much I looked up to him and loved his stories. My favorite book is probably Jurassic Park. My friend was fooling around on the computer once, and I saw in a little part of the page, "'Jurassic Park' writer Michael Crichton dies at 66." I was heartbroken, never felt like that before in my life.

R.I.P. Michael Crichton, your lifetime was limited, but your stories are forever.

  • I'm currently reading Jurassic Park, what a great story... surpasses the movie on so many levels, I can't wait to read Lost World.

  • U shut the fuck up bombjapan!

  • he was giving jurrasic park 4 a good script steven hopefully will continue wat he started most likely not

  • God bless you Michael for writing the Jurassic Park books. Sucks that you died man.

    Rest In Peace. <3

  • Why...? :(

  • rip michael

  • Michael, the first book I ever read from you was Sphere, when I was 13 years old. I reread the book four times that year. It still is my favorite of your books. When I found out you had passed I decided to reread Sphere. I'm 20 now and it still captivates me as much as when I was a kid. Hope your journey doesn't end here. Wherever you are I hope you continue to shine. RIP.

  • NOOOO, My all time favorite author is gone, I loved jurassic park, the lost world, and congo, they were my first adult books R.I.P Im his #1 Fan, Myworld is spinning now, why did he have to go :(

  • I read the news of your passing but still find it hard to accept. Through your prodigious works the world is a better place than it otherwise might have been. We have lost a truly remarkable talent. You will be missed. We extend our thoughts and prayers to your family. Rest in Peace, Mr. Crichton.

  • RIP

btw, 0:03 wasn't in the movie

  • the man that inspired me dies, may he rest in peace :(

  • R.I.P. Michael Crichton. You will be remembered through your great works.

  • God Bless You.

  • RIP..I absolutely love your writing.

  • RIP You will be missed dude

  • it sucks, really bad that he's gone.

your works shall live on forever.

    R.I.P

  • Rest in Peace bro!! The world really lost a amazing person!
