  • thats cool!

  • Someone needs to remake this list. with better picks.

  • I have plans to be a SNES gamer, but i need After Effects, DVD Recorder and many SNES games as possible.

  • i dunno, but... wow.... seriously? where the HELL is enhasa?

WOW. This music is NOTHING compared to 90% of chrono triggers music or ff3's music. even ff2 overworld theme beats the crap out of this song.

The game was great, but this music doesnt hold a candle to some snes music. I know its just your opinion, so i posted mine.

  • only number 5 was good the rest are fucn sht. u such a nub in gaming

  • i cant tell if this is epic or annoying

  • "Within the Giant" Final Fantasy 2/4, (#1) and "Ending Theme" from Super Castlevania 4 (#2)

  • i don't like that sound at the beggining

  • RAPANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!XD

  • There is far better music in SOM that you could have chosen than this. Anything but this.

  • Does anyone wanna come over to my house and play? I have multitap!

  • Got to be kidding me. Because I never played the game, I'm not all biased towards it, and I've gotta say... it's a horrible theme. It just repeats some very simple parts over and over.

  • I like the music that plays when you battle the Lich

  • fuuuuuuuuuuck i'm out of walnuts and wasnt ready for this!!!!!

  • Music plays "Oh crap what did I get myself into!?"

  • Ugh, you really tainted this awesome track by selectively and over-exaggeratedly increasing the volume in "pulses" like at 1:57...

  • I have never played this game, but holy crap, I would cry if this song played in real life haha

  • @Enmity34

kurikinton fox played this on guitar... it's awesome ;)

  • 15 people are so blinded by epicness they clicked "dislike".

  • This is heavy.....

  • One of the best RPG on Snes!

  • This music definitely added a sense of urgency to boss battles. This is so damn fun!

  • neva played this is it good?

  • oh man that was times....

    i love 16-bit =D

  • @kirumikun You idiot. SNES games can be good, too. Just ask Super Mario RPG or Kirby Super Star. The music in those games can be AMAZING. I'm not a nostalgia freak, yet I LOVE Super Mario World. Remember that the SNES was made as one of Nintendo's first video game systems. One of the first video game systems ever, at that. The graphics for SMRPG were pretty impressive for SNES. Don't just judge video games or systems by age. You need to play it to find your true opinion.

  • @TheAmazingRowen I with you all the way except the SNES isn't one of the first consoles ever. Obviously it was Nintendo's second console after the NES. Sega had already released the Master System and Genesis before SNES. And of course the really old stuff like Odyssey, Atari, and Intellivision. But I agree the SNES kicks ass and it is the all time greatest console.

  • @85ihateposeurs ...oh. Well, I have no right to say I ever knew that. If I was ALIVE back then, I probably would been right. Thanks for the minor correction :)

  • @kirumikun Well snes had almost every good games.

  • Oh gawd this brings back memories of my elementary school days.

  • Wow! Now I see why Final Fantasy III's Atma Weapon/Fierce Battle isn't in the first place. I was almost hitting you for that...but this is a music that...is simply: WOW!

  • FUCK THE NEW GENERATION CONSOLES!!!

    SNES FOR LIVE!

  • @Stranglehold19 HELL YEAH!!!

even with virtual console and shits, nothing but I mean NOTHING can beat the feeling of playing a snes game on the snes itself...

  • cool sound but i prefer the theme from the last fight against the dragon or the theme against the lich

  • ha! This is good but the Lufia 2 boss theme is better than this.

  • I like the transition at around 1:14. "Yeah, we kickin ass now!"

  • @KorabanVII That is exactly why this theme is my favourite, the music always seemed to reflect exactly what was happening in the battle.

  • @NickAura i completely agree

  • @KorabanVII haha yes this transition totally gave us motivation to kick the bosses' butt during the fights! ;-)

  • wath this is the number one this song sucks man

song of crono trigger theme is better no this shet

  • Disagree. A Lot. This song is like having a seisure and listening to MSI

  • @Skankindragon1 listen to the whole song, not just the beggining. 1:15 is when the gets really good

  • I said what I said :) @zak832

  • bass drum ftw?

  • this was my favorite theme when is was little, memories :)

  • this music, dark lich battle music and meridian dance are so awsome i could die right now with no regrets

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Well I was surprised to see this as number one considering this is one of the songs I somewhat disliked when actually going through the game (although it isn't too bad in retrospect). "Fear of the Heavens" and "Meridian Dance" ranked higher in my book (followed probably by "The Dark Star" and "I Won't Forget") from Secret of Mana alone.

  • 1:14 - 1:35 always gave me chills.

  • Man that music is so freaking dope!

  • holy shit sounds like thrash metal!

  • this was a great game, but the ending sucked

  • i seriously don't like this music. cuz it gets me panicky everytime i cant even finish the game

  • @DVenaCava You know its good when it effects your gameplay.

  • Best boss music on the planet.

  • this music was batshit insane. I loved it.

  • ah c'mon theres dozens better tracks in secret of mana

  • Nostalgia attack! AHHHHHHHHH

  • i think atma weapon should have made it further down the count but this is still really awesome

  • i like my snes better than my 360!

  • Yeah man, the past couple weeks I've played my SNES more than 360.

  • @enetick dude, the 360 and ps3 suck compared to the snes xD greatest console ever, and kudos to GBA for releasing mother 3; should be on this list...

  • @shoopdewooooooop Don't forget nes and gba. :)

  • @Makuru i did mention the GBA, and i actualy prefer the snes over the nes, just because of the better technology and music... nes is still amazing for starting many great series, like my favorites, metroid and mother.

  • @shoopdewooooooop because the games on the 360 and ps3 suck, and the kinect thing and the gimmick controller ps move. The only games i love for the xbox 360 it's just Halo. (i Don't own a Xbox, or a ps, just all the nintendo console ( execpt game boy micro)

  • @SuperNintendomaniac umm, what comment was that responding to? im confused xD

  • @shoopdewooooooop sorry, i do have do an error.

  • @SuperNintendomaniac ok... an how come u changed your grammar so much from the last comment...

  • @shoopdewooooooop sorry, my grammar is a little bad (i'm a quebecois, talking french, but I like english)

  • @enetick RIGHT

  • Not is the best! The best is Bramble Blast (number 3 in the top)

  • was about to say that

  • Maybe I'm wrong but didn't they use the same theme on secret of evermore too?

  • This song alone makes me want to play this game!

  • Franchement, il mérite la place number 1..je suis fan de SOM x)

  • that beat is MEAN! whoa. i miss the 90's.

  • i never really liked the story of secret of mana but man the gameplay and the music for me were fantastic also it has immertion so its a win win no matter were you see it

  • mint sound track i have this as me ringtone on me mobie

  • But yea everyone's comments about 1:11 are right... it sounds kinda like a "nyah nyanyanyah nyah!" taunt.

  • what boss battle theme was this?

I forgot what boss this is from

  • Pretty much every single boss in Secret of Mana... except for thanatos and the mana beast.

  • Premonition (final Flammie) is the BEST song from SoM..<3 it. I love Pure Land music too though. And Wish (Crystal Forest) makes me cry/go to sleep.

  • This always made me so nervous during boss battles. Especially the first part...

  • best music intro ever

  • one of the best song ever, so much variation, love it!

  • secret of mana was a good game, but i wouldn't rank this as number 1 music. lufia ii's boss battle sounds way more epic.

  • so hardcore! >=D

  • Really? Of all the fantastic SoM songs, I am surprised this is your #1. Not that it's bad, the entire game's music is peerless, but I would have chose another, like "Ceremony" or "Prophecy" or something else.

  • The Dark Star had a flawless entrance as well, and the final boss fight was very good to.

  • Man all of oyu don't understand this is his list not yours so don't recemend things knowing that no one will listen to you.

  • this is amazing

  • the song is really annoying until it gets to 1:11 thats the only part thats good and what probably makes the song great lol!!

I liek this song only for that part lol

  • Yeah, it's timed perfectly though. For the first minute or so you're just taking a beating, then you finally get the boss all figured out by 1:11 and start kicking its trash.

  • Really? This is #1? I wouldn't even put in the Top 10. Stickerbrush Symphony is really the best song out of the ones you picked, and thus, should be #1 IMO.

  • like i said before... Stickerbrush Symphony is the best :D

  • Frankly, I think that this song is pretty bad. It doesn't even make my top 20 list of top SNES songs. The Mana beast theme is at least better than this.

  • Just beat this game last week. I don't remember this song being that amazing, but it is pretty cool now that I hear it without the white noise of sword slashes and whatnot.

  • I really wanna play this game now

  • this is the best videogame song ever

  • wow this is a sick song!

  • I think a mega man x song should've been somewhere on here.

  • um...

guess this was put here just to set a surprise turn,...

    on the other hand...

what y'all think about megaman x's

storm eagle, highway intro, zero vs. x fight, GRAVITY BEETLE songs????

not very medievally-dragonesque-spellful-epic to make it into this list????

  • eh, I think Stickerbrush Symphony should be #1.

  • yeah, donkey kong made some of the best music

  • awesome double pedals.

  • yeeee

  • I liked Thanatos' theme a lot. With the tubular bells? Remember that one? :D

  • nice, songs gets amazing around 1:14

  • This song is pretty epic, but I wouldn't say the best. Chrono Trigger World Revolution is better than this for sure!

  • *nods nods nods* Definitely the best! I love this game!

  • aiai bons tempos da minha infancia....SNES 4EVER!

  • Yah, this theme is awesome! Childhood memories :) !

  • i cant forget this music :)

  • Ah... the good times...

"Hits the boss and causes great damage"

"Boss attacks (incertheronamehere) and causes 1 damage"

    "(incertheronamehere)" is unconscious!"

  • Back in the day this soundest like the weirdest boss music ever to me.

  • It could be the best theme , but I think the beginning is too ''hard'' and it's destroys his epicness.

Even so, it's a pretty good theme.

  • I don't like this one Dkc2 # 3 should have been 1 that was epic but hey its your video and thats cool :]

  • Fuck yeah, listen to those fucking drums goddamn

  • Oops, didn't realize the SoM was number sorry....

  • No, this is far from the best. The end boss battle on Donkey Kong Country BLOWS this away!

  • To each their own but yea i was def thinking about the King K rool song too...also two spider-man games had awesome opening songs. Ken's stage in SF2...lots to choose from.

  • Oh, glorious boss theme~

Excellent choice for #1, this is video game music near it's best.

  • Awesome , it's going so fasr. I like fast ^.^

  • My favorite from this soundtrack is "Prophecy"!

    *sigh* Good ol' days...

  • Not to mention in Secret of Mana 2 the same damn bosses repeat like twice.... 2 is definately the worst of them, and not nearly as epic music as this game has!

  • I'd play this game again on ZSNES just to prove people wrong about 8:99 being the level cap but the game is just way too fricken long. I don't want to put in such a heavy time commitment just to find out it was a SNES cartridge bug (NOT hack) and they fixed it on the roms heh.

I'm playing Secret of Mana 2 and I think I'm already entering the Mana HolyLand..what the fuck, I fought like 10 bosses lol?? In this Secret of Mana you'd already had to have fought like 30 lol.

  • Good song, as all of the secret of mana tunes were... just think some of the others deserve a number 1 spot more than this one.

But, still... best game ever made imo.

  • Don't listen to these idiots most of them probably never even played this amazing game. Great tune.

  • I loved your 1-9 choices, but your number 1 I dont like to much. But hey, its YOUR list, and I respect that. Its a cool song, anyhow. I'm just saying, my personal favorite e song would probably be "MegaMan X - Sigma Stage 1" or something, lol. Good job though, I enjoyed your Top 10 a lot.

  • So MANY fools....so little time! Mwahahahahahaahahahaahahaa~

  • Keep your shitty opinions to yourself knobhead.

  • Dude your so deaf you probably haven't even played the game. I've played em all and trust me this is easily a top 5 boss theme track, oh noz I must not be a true SNES fan - get real, I was such an SNES fan that I didn't even touch Sony's RPG's when Square went over.

  • OK becos i c u have taste in realising the greatness of this generation of games, i take back my insult. But calling this music 'the worst possible' and 'garbage' is just disrespecting other people. I agree it probably shouldnt be #1 with all the other great snes music. You need to play the game and then maybe ull see how it fits with all the epic boss battles and im sure you wouldnt be so harsh.

  • than go listen to some modern game music, we don't care what u gotta say, look at the -5 thumbs down, it's obvious that what u said was shitty...

  • Eh everybody is entitled to their opinion i guess >.>

  • Too repetitive...

  • Never played the game, but this music is FUCKING intense! Where can I download this for iTunes?

  • I gotta agree, music always gives me chills - by far the best of the RPG's on SNES. 5 stars!

  • This has always been a childhood favourite of mine. Over ten years ago I was scouring the internet to find even just a MIDI of it (because back then finding the real thing seemed out of the question). It's no worse now after all these years--I still love it just the same, and it is still an outstanding song.

  • 1:15=sex

  • LMFAO. that's going too far :)

  • There are exactly 50 bosses in this game. This track gets played 48 times (since last two bosses have their own themes). This is one of the longest games there is on the SNES though you can clear it very fast if you know what to do.

  • Oh yah EASILY one of the longest games. People might think Lufia II or Chrono Trigger is longer than hell (which they are) or even but when you have a game where EACH individual spells you can level up and are usefull to do so with so many places it makes it that much longer. Secret of Evermore is based on the same consept..even to a further extend on individual spell leveling but hardly as vast..with probably twice as less bosses and 10x less area.

  • I did a recount and I got like 38 bosses. But nonetheless, Secret of Mana sets the standard in game length. It was my first RPG ever and it took me two months to get thru the game and several bosses like spiky tiger and his blue cousin that fakes his death took a long time to outwit. Now the whole game is easy. Then play the SNES sequel on a rom and that game is even harder! I played Evermore too, I'd say that game is fairly short but I loved it anyways.

  • OOOH yes I did have Secret of Mana 2 on a ROM shit thanks for reminded me lol, I probably don't have it now though doh - know where I can get it or is that kinda stuff now illegal?

I vaguely remember Secret of Mana 2 for some reason and for some reason I thought Secret of Mana was still better hmmm, I'm old =/

  • Starts out crazy, goes out crazy! This HAS GOT to be one of my FAVORITE boss music pieces OF ALL TIME! And no one should be sad that I say this because, YES final fantasy and Chrono Trigger have totally awesome music as well...but, guys...SoM was produced by Squaresoft too. So, it's not like your bieng sacriligious or commiting mutiny by totally enjoying this game and it's music!

  • Man, listen how freak this melody sound like, madness, crazy, almost diabolic, and the drums OWN for super nintendo sound! I like it very much!

  • gilgamesh's them should be number one

  • I love what Kurikinton Fox does with this. Of course the original version is awesome as well =)

  • i like this theme ! :)

  • Its cool but i like for example

Mystic Quest "Dark King Boss Music"

    Final Fantasy 3/6 "Dancing Mad"

    Super Castlevania "Chandelier"

Secret of Mana "Fear of Heaven"

    much more than this.

could you give reasons for your choice?

    great Work at all!!

  • I love you for putting Dark King Boss Music on your list >:P
