  • I've been searching for the tunes he's playing on the video... anyone knows them?

  • The name of the tune is "The Eavesdropper". It's a jig.

  • you're hot!!! But I like the vader mask!!

  • ktie28 aye as long as there is air in the bag and ur applyin pressure

  • aren't bag pipes Scottish????

  • No, there are many different types of pipes (the Irish are famous for their uilleann pipes [among many other things, of course]). Their origin is suggested to be either Hittite or Grecian.

  • He's right in thinking that they're modern history is Scottish. The Scots away from the Highlands (which is the lowlands Scots, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling, Dundee etc) didn't play the bagpipes until the Scottish rebirth around the 18th century, which romanticised the highland culture and made it more widespread (same goes for tartan.)

It had the same effect on the Irish, as we all joined together in a celebration of our Celtic cultures.

    :)

  • funny..bagpipes never been this hardcore haha..so u can still play it even if its not in ur mouth, as long as there's still air in the bag?

  • it looks like ur not playing it urself but maybe im wrong and thats the way it works

  • its confusing but he actually is playing

  • Gifidigi : CALM THE FUCK DOWN

  • Lol. Dangg.

  • the sound just isnt synchronized with the video. havent you ever seen it in a video?

  • no duhh theres still air in the bag dumb ass

  • the way bagpipes work is you blow air into the bag and constrict the bag with your arm through the reed(?) which makes the sound.

Next Time learn about it before you make retarded comments ;)

  • its like nsync!

  • well, the first time i played it, it was in sync, and now its not, weird

  • hey he looks like the guy from the movie bourne identity.

  • you mean Matt Damon?...yeah a really tiny bit i guess

  • epic! just epic!

  • marry me?

  • Celebrating an Irish Day with a Scottish Instrument? W.T.F!

  • Bagpipes have been used in Ireland and Scotland for I believe about the same time and there are even Irish variations. Its just that Scottish bag pipe usage overshadowed Irish usage.

  • that is correct =)

also both Ireland and Scotland are Celtic countries, both have similar routes and cultures :D

  • Correct. They both generate people with bad teeth.

  • no...no...that's England

  • considering England has free dental care and flourine in our water, I think you'll find our teeth are fine.

  • haha, sorry, you didn't catch my sarcasm? you guys should conolize us again, free dental care sounds great

  • SHITS SWEET

    YOU ROCK

  • you rock!!1

  • okay, is it just me, or is he really good on bagpipes?

  • and HOW exactly can you tel?... have you ever played the bagpipes?...do you even know how they work? didn't think so...

  • its out of sync thats why he thought that

  • its deinfatly not fake

  • its totally not fake, the fingering on the chanter is accurate, and in sync, and you dont have to blow in the blow pipe the whole time to make it create sound.

  • yé i love it is soooooooooooo goooooooooooood

  • wish i could play that fast....

  • Hey marfin, its because you tube compresses the crap out of anything you put on here.

  • what college do you go to?

  • HELLO DARTH VADER

  • play some DKM that should put your good talent to use

  • omg i can here it 1000 of times and it never will be boring 5*

  • eh, if you are Irish why are you playing the Scottish highland pipes and not the Irish war pipes?

  • probably for the same reason my other half sometimes plays rock on his acoustic guitar, its the instrument you happen to own, duh

  • Yeah! Love it!!! And I like the house too...sort of adds something....

  • youre great

  • cool but I like the darth vader!

  • Hell yeah! -=80) Shock on, man! -=80)

    SeAwEeD

  • Dude, put the Darth Vader mask back on!

  • very nice... i liked the starwars one too ; ) keep it up

  • nice i loved it !!!!!!!and hey this guy is not an idiot!

  • Brilliant

  • your fingers are fast m8 well tuned also good piper keep it up

  • Iraq? May your fouled mouth ass should go back to school since you think you know it all. Coming from a fellow piper bagpipes DID NOT originate in Iraq. They started in Island of Corsica in France. If I where you I would get your money back from what ever school you went to and stop acting like you know it all.

  • thanks dude!! my sant patricks day is my birthday too! is true JAJAJ

  • Bag Pipes are Scottish and Saint Patties day is Irish...

  • Bagpipes of various sorts are used in both Scotland and Ireland.

  • Nice

  • I've read alot of the comments.LEARN some history. The pipes may have originated outside of Scotland, possibly Ireland. The bagpipes are a big part of Irish music.I could keep schooling some of you,but why bother.

  • please dont call it "st p-dizzle-day" xD

  • wow lmao that is soo fake, you can see him breathe every few seconds

  • thats how a bagpipe works... you blow air into the bag, and make sure the bag has enough air at all times

  • You're SUPPOSED to blow air into the chamber and then PUSH the CHAMBER in order to get the tones, not to mention the audio is offset from the video.

  • yeah dude you use your arm to sqeeze the air out of the bag while you keep a good portion of air in the bag

  • well... duh.

  • every bagpipist does that(i thought the same)

  • i just feel like making this reply even longer oh nd dude ur wrong =)

  • dumbass

  • dont talk to him like that, he is amazing

  • im not talking to the guy in the video the guy in the video is awsome, there was a guy saying that this video is fake

  • it'd be awesome if he was actually the one playing the song..

  • he is? noticed that the sound is offset?

  • What kind of pipes you got?

  • can u do the scotish dance?

  • hell yeah good job

  • lol^^

  • Dude, you rock!!

  • yeah, there are a ton of variations of bagpipe, in the British Isles and all around the world. Also St. Patrick wasn't even Irish! He was an English missionary who traveled to Ireland to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. What a surprise; our world turns an originally Christian/religious holiday into a commercial drinkfest! nothing new there...

  • thank you mr. wikipedia.

  • oh well i see that someone already pointed that out. oh well just to confirm.

  • saint patricks day is an a celebration for the irish but the bag pipes are a scottish instrument... tiny discrepency. still love both though.

  • This makes me want to drink McEwan's Scotch Ale. XD

  • geart jod

  • Bagpipes are scottish. Saint Patrick was Irish.

  • Bagpipes there are a lot of sorts.

Me i come from Brittany ,where we have Biniou

I play "Scottish" Bagpipe too (biniou braz in Brittany) and for me that have no importance. I think Irish ,Breton,Scottish and welsh we are brothers.

Bagpipe is for me simply Celtic.

  • Don't the Gails usually think of each other as cousins?

  • What?

    Breton are not Gauls

our ancestry are the britons as the cornish and welsh

  • What??!!!

    The Breton are not gauls

our ancestry are the Britons as the Welsh an the Cornish

  • GAULs are French. GAILs are Irish and Scottish. See also: Gailic.

  • yes its right

but gaels are are celtic people as welsh and breton

  • turk1559 (1 week ago)

    its fake

the music keeps going when he takes a breath

@turk1559, well this clearly that you do not know how a bagpipes works, unlike any instruments requires air, the sounds stops while you taking a breath and the sounds resumes when you blow, the term "bagpipes" is an instrument that has a bag filled with air for continuing tones while squeezing the bag to keep air flowing while you are taking a breath and blowing in the pipe to refill the airbag on the bagpipes

  • so he was pushing the air out with his arm letting him still play while he was taking a breath so he can put more air into it

  • that is correct childofbodem169

  • Well as far as bagpipes are concerned, but for other wind instruments there is a technique that defies this principle..it's called circular breathing and you can play for long time a melody. This technique is commonly used in Oboe and in Bassoon (i think) in flute (what i play) it's the toughest technique.. :(

[the world recor is 50min in a single note with a saxophone *from wiki* :D

PS. Wind Instruments ROCK :D :D

  • now that's some serious blow power:))))) ill get dizzy 4 sure! :)))

  • awesome awesome awesome

(tried the great highland pipes for the first time a few days ago haha)

i cant wait to get this good!

  • Why is that brit talking politics. Youre a hell of a piper.I'm guessing CA. by the roof I'm in Chicago. God bless. Shouldn't he be sipping tea, and watching soccer. lol

  • very nice. check out the kid viperpier123. He is like 14 and awsome. P.S. its a fucking t-shirt. why is that even being talked about, and I dug the vader mask....I don't think he is a Scot, or Irish

  • i didn't know matt damon played bagpipes haha

  • HAHAHAHA!!! matt...damon...

  • On behalf of the rest of us here in America that have Scottish Decent, I loved it. I dont know what the other guys are whining about with the Irish shirt, Actually Guiness Beer sucks, want some real Irish beer go there and drink, I prefer Kilkenny Draft. AS far as the comments on war and stupid political crap, Shut your Gobs, This kid was good and kicked ass.

  • Awsome ending!

  • Oh for crying out loud, I have to agree with DarKKingFlo, its nice to know what youre critizising before you do it....

  • look up how bagpipes work before you comment

  • they do that in parades to .its normal.

  • that is how the bagpipe works, you breathe air into the bag and it keeps going know it all

  • It's not fake!!! The air goes into the bag and he squeezes it with his arm to make it pass through the figer holes and that's why you can't tough out and easily specify your notes unless they're a different pitch

  • awesome! again :D you rock, dude

  • This is so fake, its hilarious.

  • fake as hell

  • CRAZY!!!!!!!!!

  • Typical Fake American Knob!!

Bagpippes are SCOTTISH you fuckin twat!!!!!!!!!!! UILLEANN pipes are IRISH, played with a bellows under the right arm. If you're going to stand there pretending to be irish with the guiness T Shirt, play an IRISH Instrument. Fake twat.

  • wow you got a pretty big mouth considering we(U.S.A) beat your english asses in 2 wars. So its prolly not wise to mess with us Americans

  • Fuck me!! Is that the best you can do? You have to go back, what, couple of hundred years to find that one! Or are you talking about the Gulf, you know, one of those up to date conflicts with modern weapons? You're more fucking dangerous to your own side in wars. The first Gulf war saw more Brits killed by the US than the Iraqis - proud of that one too are you? No wonder most yanks try to pretend they're Irish.

  • Hahaha wow your such a loser, grow some hair on your balls and leave the kid alone. Dont get pissed off at us because you live in a shit hole Country.

  • ha ha ha ha. My country so 'shit hole' you lot wanna be us (see video), yet you live in a country hated by just about every other on the planet. Start wars in other countries and usually lose, kill more of your own side while doing so, and are known as fat, freaky and with a mental case as your leader. And the only jokes you can come up with against my country is what, 200 years old? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

  • You know what you uk shit bag, what war have we started and lost, please tell me, you make it sound like all we do is start wars. And who all hates us... you just repeating something that your shity liberal tv says. And when did I say some fuckin joke from 200 years ago ? Oh and We live in America so we can play any instrument or do whatever we damn well please, so up yours.

  • ha ha, look at yourself! 'UK shitbag', what are you, a freshman? Wars? Hmm, Vietnam springs to mind for one, and grenada too. And remember NORAID? UK civilians killed on UK streets by US funding. Read the postings, about the War of Independance from more than 230 years back? Most hate the US cos youre so arrogant, a point well demonstrated by you. Play what instrument you choose my friend, just when you pretend to be another nationality get it right to save yourselves looking fucking stupid!

  • Ok everyone knows about Vietnam, we won in Gernada... Noraid hmmm seems like to me people hate you guys too, and how is speaking up for my Country arrogance. And your not American so you wouldnt understand but there is a saying here "Everyone is Irish on St. Patty's Day" So let him play the way he wants. Oh and by the way I didnt say nothing about beating your ass 230 years ago, even tho we did.

  • Oh right, so you agree with funding terrorists in other countries, but the whole world has got to fight your war when it happens to the US. V good of you. Fine if all you Yanks want to be someone else on St Patricks Day, says alot about America. But do it right and dont insult the real Irish. Playing a Scots instrument when gressed in a guinness T Shirt just makes him look like a tit. You forget Gulf 1 when more Brits were killed by the US than Iraqis. Great Sucess U.S., way to go!!

  • When did I say I agree with funding terrorists ? If he wants to be a "tit" let him this is a free Country, ok Brits died, it was an accident, it happens in war.

  • Well at least you agree he's a tit. Thanks. Thats the trouble with war 'accidents' it happens too much with the US forces. They've been killing their allies since WW2, the Gulf was about 5 'accidents'. Wish I had a country like that I could be so proud of. No you didnt say you agreed with funding terrorists. Didnt condone it either. Typical selective Yank memory.

  • Copinated and MrBarzini both made asses of themselves. Copinated because he just looks stupid, playing the bagpipes with an "irish" shirt, not to mention the whole tongue thing at the end, and MrBarzini because he is portraying the stereotypical ignorant American who gives the rest of us a bad name. I feel somewhat ashamed when people like this make other countries think poorly of us. Just know that we are not all like this, airman.

  • Thankyou, a decent comment! I know you are not all like MrBarzini, shame you have too many of them though...

  • Actually forgot to say, 'the kid' causes more offence to Irish (real ones that is) by playing the wrong instrument. Do it right or dont do it.

  • THANK YOU Airman. Im Scottish and Irish and I was thinkin the same thing.

  • Pleasure ;-)

  • the thing at the end was a bit silly

  • haha. you're really good at that (:

  • i want 2 learn the bagpipes!! ^^

  • goddam thats good, this made me wanna learn bagpipes =P tehn I went online and saw how much they cost...needless to say the urge passed fairly quickly ;)

  • bro thats sick as hell i whish i was that good
