The most impressive thing about that is that until the middle of the 4th quarter Kobe's scoring was well within the flow of the game. The Lakers were down and obviously having an off night and without a huge scoring night from Kobe they likely lose that game. Of course the last 10-15 points were about feeding him and padding the stats with the game within hand. Still a great and historic performance though.

No. Kobe's 81 against a Raptors team who at the time were 14-27 is not any less incredible just because of his opponent. What about Kobe's 62 points the month prior while sitting out the entire 4th qtr? He put up 62 after just 3 qtrs.
