  • @TheDarvus pick up a book and read. education is at your finger tips, embrace it! There is a reason why historians the world over (even atheist ones) know that Jesus existed. Discover the evidence, it will open your eyes that have been blinded for far too long.

  • @TheDarvus What, you think I'm going to type out over 300 pages for you because you are unwilling to educate yourself by reading a book. The truth is that no one believes your nonsense and you have zero evidence to support it. Go read some books so you can see through your idiotic claims like the rest of us.

  • @TheDarvus I admit that you are what you say you are... your the one calling names, I'm just giving it back to you in same childlike manner that you are giving it to me.

The evidence can be found in books that you refuse to read because they will force you to reexamine your ideas and your lifestyle, but you don't want to do that now do you?

  • @TheDarvus Takes one to know one, LOL

  • @TheDarvus try reading one of Strobel's books instead of just trolling his videos. lots in there for you.

  • @TheDarvus The evidene is overwhelming. that much is clear to all have examined it. Too bad you are unwilling to do so, instead you just troll around making comments out of your own ignorance.

  • If Quirinius governed Syria at 2 separate times, he did something no other Roman in the ENTIRE HISTORY OF THE ROMAN WORLD did.

Moreover, we have complete records of all the governors of Syria, and there is absolutely no room for Quirinius to have a say at the time suggested by Strobel. You can wiki "Roman Governors of Syria" for helping researching this.

He's using obsolete scholarship to deceive people. Manipulative bitch.

I'm a historian. Luke was a twat. Thucydides FTW.

  • Who were the actually authors is my question we don't know.

  • Strobel had the resources and backing of a major media publication to go out and interview the world's foremost critics and scholars. He visited the Vatican Library, the Dead Sea Scroll Museum in Israel, Oxford, UCLA, etc.,etc., He also has earned both a law degree and a journalism degree. So he obviously knows how to conduct research properly. He claims to have approached this subject as a skeptic and yet became a believer. What are the credentials of his detractors?

  • @BobinMT His law degree is just basic stuff.. A one year course. Called Master os studies in Law. I would not boost of such a title.

  • Lee something happened a long time ago, as you say, but its was after Jesus died. Religion came along and crazies like you perverted the words of Jesus. Using a Book to spin your tales instead of preaching the words and work of Jesus. Lee, what you do is preach fear. You are a bigot and will be going to hell, according to the book, unless you change your ways. I pray that you see the light, and tell the story of Jesus...Love, Peace, Charity, without prejudices or condemnations

  • I fully agree with what Strobel has to say. There is so much historical, archeological, and eye witness evidence. For instance, there's the Dead Sea Scrolls and the fact that eyewitnesses saw Jesus' resurrection and boldly claimed it even though their life was on the line. Why would they keep a lie for forty years if their life depended upon it? The Bible is also the most influential book, changing peoples lives and transforming countries. All these things prove that the Bible is truth!

  • most of the evidence points to Luke being the author of Luke-Acts. And The Gospel of John is proven to be an eye witness account.

  • One must try to understand the concept of fictions in between truths. I guess it means so mush less to him without the magic.

  • If you do not approve the comments then it is proof that you too are being intellectually dishonest.

    Isn't that a sin?

  • I apologize I didn't see the notification for your comments. I'll let the second one go but no profanity in the future. It's also a useless comment that doesn't offer anything, and isn't even true. "all of these points," WHAT points? And WHAT is your point? Archeology HAS proven the Bible and not ONE fact in the Bible has been disproven by archeology. This has been refuted for years? lol And who proved Luke didn't write Luke? You know, lying IS a sin!

  • (Sigh)I do not have the time to point all the facts out to you...start here...

The Literary Guide to the Bible, edited by Robert Alter and Frank Kermode, Belknap Press, 1987

The Unauthorized Version: Truth and Fiction in the Bible, by Robin Lane Fox, Knopf, 1992

The Lost Gospel: The Book of Q and Christian Origins, by Burton Mack, HarperSanFrancisco, 1993

Testament, by David Morell, Warner Books, 1993

The Historical Figure of Jesus, by E.P. Sanders, Penguin Books, 1993

  • Why don't you just give me your best shot, out of all those books you mention is there one thing that has been proven to be false in the bible? Please do tell, as millions of people (including me) are basing their entire lives on the truth of the bible. Otherwise, I'll delete your useless and dishonest comments.

  • I suggest the book "Who Was Jesus?: Fingerprints of the Christ" for a scholarly, in depth and even handed look at the 4 gospels. ok, now for what is clearly false. Parts of the Bible that are internally contradictory. Both X and ~X cannot be true. Then again, we have the total global flood story, which is contradicted by everything we know about geology and hydrology and archeology. There have been large floods, but never global in scale.

  • @dmosier you're a skeptic who is giving reference of skeptical writings. big coincidence. I'll bet you copied those refs. from a skeptical website. can you actually give an objective viewpoint?

  • What the hell is he talking about.

All of these points have been refuted for years.

  • That's a lie... What points "have been refuted for years?"

  • god wrote the book of luke not luke

  • Lee keeps talking like Luke wrote the book of Luke. Does anyone still believe this?

There are no *contemporary* writings about Jesus.

None. They are all written much after the 'death' of 'christ'.

Any biblical scholar knows this. So why does Lee not know this? Or is it that he does and he is being intentionally dishonest in order to sell more books to the deluded christians?

    you be the judge....

  • Why don't you think Luke wrote Luke? Because it would be a "contemporary" writing and lend credibility?

  • @toddtyszka take just 5 minutes and read the Wikipedia article on the gosple of Luke, and if you like take a day and follow the DOZENS of credible references.

NO biblical scholar claims that "Luke" Authored The Gospel of Luke.

Everyone thinks that it was written based on Mark (and possibly Matthew) at least 60 years after the death of jesus.

Sorry, but the facts are the facts.

  • @toddtyszka My friend, comment on what you know, not on what you don't. The Gospel of Luke was written three generations after Jesus death. Luke, as with all the gospels are written for the communities in which they familiar. Compare the writings of Matthew to the Maccabees, the Gentiles to Luke.

  • @MrBiblicalscholar The problem with your theory is that scholars, including liberal scholars, don't date the gospel of Luke three generations after the event, but within two generations. The book of Acts ended with Paul still alive under house arrested. Scholars agree that Paul was executed no later than 68 AD & The Book of Acts no later than 62 AD.

  • What in the world are you talking about? The Gospels were written by real historical people who were eyewitnesses to the events of Jesus death. They lived during his lifetime. And the manuscripts we have that exist are much closer to the original than for any other ancienct literary work, and we have more manuscripts.

  • @ace8842

I know that you are telling me what you have been told, and I am certain that you believe it to be true. There are now far to many sources of proof that show that this is just simply not true. Look into it.

  • @dmosier So do you have evidence that Luke did NOT write the book of Luke? Tell us what it is oh intelligent one. Or are we to believe your question's inference on faith? And then can you tell us why we should have faith in your intellect and intelligence or your reasoning ability? Do you have some evidence for that? God loves you even if you don't believe in him. He believes in you!

  • @dmosier So let's have your evidence instead of logical fallacies please? Do you have any? OR must we take what YOU say on faith?

  • @dmosier Or perhaps it is to help deluded atheists like you become non-delusional?

  • @dmosier And of course Mr. Dawkins and Mr. Hitchens write to "free" people not for profit. Profit is of course bad to you right? Or is this another illogical fallacy? I judge that he is right and you are deluded because you give NO EVIDENCE but he does. End of story? You told me to be the judge! That's my judgement.
