  • Leave the bloke who righted the boat dangling longer next time!

  • Oh arse biscuits.

  • This ONLY happened because the guy/pole was not squared. From the angle it looks it was during a jibe... It looks like the guy was eased too much, which let the kite fill to leeward of the forestay and away from the boat, which pulled it over. The guy in the yellows moved forward as quickly as he could and released the spin halyard and the boom vang... He then stood on the boom... The boat stood right back up. Watch it close... Shrimp for dinner anyone????

  • I'm thinking about buying a J22 but now my mind is made up. These things go pretty good even dragging all that crap

  • ummm couple things you did wrong...but the thing you did right, no one was injured of killed! so for you this is a WIN!

  • The point of sailing a keel boat that can capsize like a dinghy being? Oh and take ur time to pick up your mate being dragged on the side!

  • Dont forget the hero!!!

  • u got it on film, nice 1

  • nice with aloud of wind ;-)

  • do they know how to right the boat like cmon thats like white sail people

  • thumbs up for skippers who overestimate the reflexes of their crew.

  • WoW! Little concern for the guy off the rail! Looks like a crew with more beer than experience.

  • an example of a skipper not heading down for a moment so his crew can organize the kite.

i was surprised the boat did not self right better?

  • Did I hear somthing about J boats not having the option of capsization.

  • aah, that sucks.. =/

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhh dude...... that SUCKS!!!! i feel so bad for you :( i flipped a knockabout once and that was pretty miserable.... xD

  • spinnaker in the water is known to cause some drag :)

  • you know this is odd the sail number on this boat is part of my wmail addy and just about every username i use for everything

  • email*

  • and hes a cheater too!!!

  • Why are you not still in Green Fleet Opti's

  • Do they even know how to set a chute in heavy air?? They look like newbies to me

  • takes long enough to dump teh halyard and dump the air

  • Clearly you have never raced in heavy air :) as i have seen many 80'pro boats get knocked down

  • How the fuck did you guys manage to do that to your j22. You suck!

  • It happens, but indeed, how the fuck do you capsize a keel boat?

  • i capsized a blazer 23 with just jib:/:/:/ :P

  • I like the technique of using the spinnaker as a sea anchor in order to retrieve the man overboard. Very inventive. ;-)

  • i capsized a blazer 23 with just jib:/:/ :p :/

  • lol i never wouldve thought of that...

  • looks like they only remembered the fourth crew when they noticed the boat felt a bit sluggish

  • Should have gone deeper, it's way too windy for a close reach like that. Go deep, and take it down early for a nice clean rounding!

  • I like how "My Girlfriend on The Boat" is a "Related Video" to this by YouTube's standards...

  • Credits to George the BC Czar for capturing this and Caleb having his camera there. You can analyze this all day and learn all sorts of lessons. Combine this with the Kattack view of the race we captured that day and you get a pretty good view of the race. No one was injured in this video.

  • If he'd turned downwind a bit he'd have kept control of the boat and the spinnaker and gone faster toward the mark--all without the wet work.
