  • i haven't- EVER, in my life- heard such a FUCKING MANLY voice. ever.

  • @ninjafroglet

That is disturbing information. Perhaps you should get a psychiatrist if you don't already have one, and tell them that. I'm sure they would definitely have an interesting response...

Oh, and please don't copy everyone else. There is enough cattle; be a shepherd.

  • fuck ur apples

  • This You Tube video is now sponsored by Apple! Any body on Youtube that sees this and then texts "APPLE" to the number 46786 get a special gift from Apple!

  • why the drummer is sitting with his back to the audience? : 0

  • The guitar and bass in this song still had a little RATM feel to it. Great song!

  • @MTM9559. LOL IKR. I think they were aiming for clean inspirational/political rock. But if this was one of their first songs, i would expect it.

  • Brad Wilk is a beast on drums

  • @rokko153 I Agree.

  • @rokko153 timmy is a beast on the bass too ,,the whole band are beasts especially when zack was in the band...

  • This is the only Audioslave song with a R- Rated word in it.

  • Say what you want about Chris' voice, he never took a concert off just because he couldnt hit a note.

  • @deathcontinued Chris has an incredible voice,it's unmistakable.

  • "this is the first song we ever wrote together! Actually it's the third song we ever wrote together as a band'. so cute. and sexy.

  • CORNELL IS OUR MASTER!!

  • tom morello is like a modern day david gilmore

  • Why does Chris Cornell sound like an old hick white guy famer rock n roll person ? :)

    Dammm hes getting older

its more like Vocalslave :) lol

  • @jetsonic69

Chris Cornell is handsome, though his stage presence is very poor for a rock band...

I thing he is rather a Studio Rockband-Singer, he goes out of tune very lightely!

Even being an Audioslave fan I prefer them on studio....

    Javier, Chile

  • His voice on this record is already not exists...

  • to bad his voice was cracking......must of practiced too much

  • @coldblud101

Actually, funny story, he had an AWFUL throat infection during Lollapalooza 2003. The entire time they were there, fucking puking and screeching at people over the noise, and he was still able to sing. Albeit not so well, but sing nonetheless.

  • Damn he is so f***in sexy!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • who knows how to do the start? intro?

  • Boss TR2 + Digitech Whammy 1

  • sounds like tom morello rocks!

  • Is their drummer INDIAN?

  • no...

  • @Zhunezhen

no. he is of polish descent

    brad WILK

  • i remember their concert live in cuba, fucking awesome !

  • I like Brad going old school here and having the drumkit turned around

  • I've seen Chris Cornell live many times- in Soundgarden, solo, and in Audioslave, and I can assure you that he is incredible live... Like any singer he has his off days and actually had a nasty throat infection when this was recorded... and he still rocked the s@*t out of it!!

  • oh, that makes sense. thanks

god, you're so lucky you've seen him live... i envy you XD

  • @VoiceOfTheAbyss i just sweded the music video of "cochise", and i couldnt even come close to sounding this good, and i had a week in good health to record it.

  • way to be intelligent you moron

  • Comment removed

  • tom looks like he is shot four times at the opening riff

  • his voice sounds so muddy and weighed down...

  • the drummer looks like a human drummer in the way he play

  • hola q videasooooooo che...aguante audioslave!!!

    saludos desde argentina

  • eheemm because audioslave and rage against the machine hate the government..that's why the drummer seat the wrong way.=)getz?^_^

  • why is the drummer seat the wrong way xD

  • i think its to have the drums louder

  • Comment removed

  • You were either on drugs when you typed this or you are a 12 year old girl.

  • those gritty, bloodcurling screams once used to be magnificent, effortless belts of immense vocal power.

This video goes to prove how bad Cornell's voice really got during his tenure with Audioslave. He should've quit the smoking and the drinking. His voice needed time to rest.

    Soundgarden was where Cornell shined.

He can never carry an album with just his voice anymore.

  • wtf r u talken bout its one bad song that he did live listen to the letterman show live it sounds nothing like this fuck face

  • Hey "fuck face" you obviously did not read my comment.

I spoke of his WHOLE tenure with Audioslave. Not just this performance.

The Letterman show was great sure, but if you compare it to anything he did vocally with Soundgarden it's a lost game.

He's lost power, range, and clarity which are three things are essential (depending on who you are and what you sing, that is).

It's obvious. All you need to do is listen. You can hear and even see him struggle.

  • no he doesn't he sounds just like the track which means he is a a good singer and he is still as good even with soundgarden he didn't loose touch

  • That doesn't make sense and it isn't really a response to my last comment.

How are you a good singer if you don't sound like what you do in the studio? That means you're a studio musician. You're tweaked.

    Cornell isn't a studio musician.

He just wears himself out too easily nowadays.

He did lose touch. I would've liked to see him sing "beyond the wheel" while he was w/ Audioslave.

  • How are you a good singer if you don't sound like what you do in the studio? That means you're a studio musician. You're tweaked.

exactly n im not tweakd n alot of bands dont sound like there track which means...

  • I mean in terms of performance.

A good singer will sound good live.

Cornell is a good singer. He just wears himself out when on tour.

His voice does sound much much different nowadays and in Audioslave than in his Soundgarden days.

The aging will do that of course but the smoking and drinking took it further than it should have.

  • yea maybe ur right i really doent listen to soundgarden live so i wouldnt know haha we took the whole page

  • lmao yeah we did.

  • hahaha did he write ass hole to u

  • ASSSSSSHOLE.

  • he is the best!!!!!He can sing with pussycat dolls and i am going to listen

  • lol

  • is a shame

    timbaland producing chris new cd

in this cd chris lost all the hard rock, rock & grunge that he has made before

    now is like tecno music

  • I fucking love this song, seriously, I masturbate to it

  • *~faaaap~faaap~faaaaaap~*

  • O_0 WHAT!!!!??? u are one messed up guy

  • I don't hate him, but Chris Cornell is eerie and I don't enjoy his vocals.

  • i think the fact that he's such a phenominal studio singer causes people to get the wrong idea when they hear him live. God blessed him with an amazing voice. I think this might have been when he was still smoking and drinking so that probably affected him. Once he became sober his voice went to a whole new level.

  • is audioslave still together?

  • no they disbanded 2 years ago

  • Nope they broke up a while ago.

  • God bless Audioslave, Soundgarden, Rage Against The Machine :(

its all Chris Cornells fault their broke up =) lol yes ....lets all blame Chris Cornell for causing Rage and Zacks downfall in 2000.

  • The intro is fucking insane

  • this is a great video because it show the beggining part and thats an insane sound :P

  • Chris Has a weird Voice Im scared

    Still a good song Though:P

  • oh man, he's yelling to the point where i can't understand what he's sayin. still lovin it tho

  • tom is absolutely crazy

  • love this song

  • he did the intro different. yet people like this vid. if i did the intro like that, you guys would probly give me a 1 star review.

  • yeh but you're not Tom Morello mate

  • i'm just saying, it's just not that right. it acually pisses me off when i do a live version of something and people say it is not like the origanal.

  • yeh i can get that, but i get annoyed when people set out to make covers just like the original anyways...its pointless. If you're gona bother to upload it, at least have some passion and try to make it your own...aside from that, its youtube?! what did u expect?? lol complaining about criticism on here is like complaining about the rain in the UK...lol

  • does any1 no why brad facing the wrong way?

  • becuase its cool to play to a mirror

  • he tought the crowd looked ugly i dun't know :P

  • He liked to play that way occasionally, he did it for RATM's bombtrack music video

  • Morello manhandles that guitar. Easily the best living guitar player

  • shtellup.... Tom Morrello is a guitar ambassador and should be treated as such.

  • hes ranked 25 in the world

  • it just sounds tired rather than bad, i ve heard him live in person after two days rest and its was note perfect!!

  • revelations for sure dude!! such a good and mature records.

  • i want an album of theres which one should i get?

  • revelations

  • the first one....way better than revolations

  • lol um that doesnt help cuz u both said something different, etiher explain y or some1 else has 2 b the tiebreaker. i previewed both on itunes one day and i thought revelations was better

  • I liked out of exile also

  • nope, first one is WAY better overall (at leasti think so) so there's your tie breaker

  • ok fine

  • All 3 of their albums are amazing, but I'd have to say that their self-titled one is the best. (their self-titled one is their first album.)

  • the first one...selftitled. probably the greatest album of all time

  • They're all original and unique in their own way. Each have their own stand out tracks. I think most people prefer the first album because it's heavier and closest to the work Cornell has done in the past with Soundgarden. With each record their sound matures.

  • If mature means getting softer and more radio friendly then sure.

    Audioslave matured with time.

  • this song makes myhair stand! yeah! i always wanted to sing like chris do, audioslave is just ultimate! when it comes to riffs morello is GOD! its such a shame they disbanded.

  • this the morello funk

  • I love the beginning!

  • Tom Morello is an angry blight man, er, angry whack man...er, whatever. Good tune.

  • im pretty sure im not the only one whos wanted to see this guy and Zach performing at the same time

  • cornell and zach?

  • i never knew brad didnt face the crowd when he was in audioslave i knew he did in the early years of rage, not audioslave

  • @asdfghjkl1325476980,

Drummer's name:Brad Wilk and he facing away from the crowd to give them another point of view

  • excuse me for not knowing the names but why is their drummer facing away from the crowd?

  • What's wrong with Chris' voice???

  • too much smoking-.-

he had such a great voice...but now he doesn't smoke anymore and now his voice is great again

  • Whats wrong with his voice in this?

Apart from it being awesomely powerful!!

  • Look at their performance on Letterman and you will know what Im talking about.

  • haha, don't worry, i know EXACTLY how bad his voice can be. Its just I thought it was really good in this.

Check out Shadow of the sun AOL sessions for his worst performance.

Still one of the best rock singers ever!!

  • this song has no meaning to me its just plain out.......kickass

  • This song is about Martin Luther King actually!!!!

  • how do you know that?

  • uh...dude...l-y-r-i-c-s. try looking them up possibly some time.

  • no its not...its about JESUS...look up the lyrics!

  • why is brad facing away from the front of the stage? or is it the angle?

  • My statement isnt horeshit dude.

unlike playing a guitar, singing can get to you, and CC has been singing since 1984 and hes 43, age can get to you...

BB king has been playing guitar for a very long time, and with something like that its very different./

Im glad you know and actually care about music though

  • i have heard though that he's quit smoking and he's able to sing better than he ever has been able to. i remember hearing this sometime around live earth and i also remember him singing just fine at live earth although i'm not the biggest fan of his voice ever...

  • well Robert Plant is 59 and hes been singing since like 68... when he was 19

  • its not that hes drunk, but the fact there was such a gap between Audioslave and Out of Exile was that C.C. was chainsmoking really bad...which is why he can not and never will be able to sing Jesus Christ Pose again.

  • hahaha..Look up Chris Cornell-Jesus Christ Pose on here that he did for MSN live. AND I saw him sing it live this year..fucking amazing and better than the Soundgarden days.

  • ur retarded, he has to strain to go that high, thats why he was put in the hospital and quit his tour of the siberian shield, therefore settle down.

  • I'm settled dude..but your statement is horseshit. If you haven't seen him live and performed that song recently than how can you know? Besides, it's about opinions anyway. He's a great singer..but everyone has some bad days. This song on that day being one of them..lol.

  • brad wilk is awesome! love the ending on the song!

  • tom is awsome. u barely c him without a hat.

  • lol, its cos he's drunk XD

  • The last thing that he said was SET THIS FUCKER OFF!!!!!!!

  • damn right :p

  • set this fucker off !!!!!!!

  • set it off!

    great song

  • so is brad facing the other way??

  • chili peppers rule

  • Sounds like they ripped off that Chili Peppers lick on guitar.

  • he just gathers the fog from around...

  • Hot damn how does Tom do that? Legend.

  • I think he's just messin with the knob on his Whammy pedal with a with his Boss Tremolo pedal on.

  • No, It's a delay effect. What he's doing when he's kneeling is twisting the 'time' knob on the delay pedal. I stumbled on it before, but leave it to Tom to actually do something (badass) with it.

  • Yeah I know what you're talking about but the pitch on the delay effect gradually goes up, this effect goes up in large octave intervals.

  • im sorry to break your hearts but they broke up on valintines day :(

  • Brad Wilk is a beast, though. And Cornell's voice is just awesome. They stand for something still, you know? They're not just the average Punk-Anarcist Metal-Satanic Rap-Gansta band. And a pretty good Live video-cologue; best one I've seen in a while.

  • good

  • Damn! Tom Morelo really kicks the guitar effects, I'm still wonderin, how he do that!

  • Raw,real-cool shit!
