The scanning system got a giant overhaul a while ago, but basic directional scanning like in this video remains unchanged.

CCP has never publish a manual that I know of so people who don't have the time, patience or brainpower to hack the game need all the help we can get. Thanks for the tutorial, very cool.

It was a lot easier back in the days that the scanner had a little overview of the solar system. It is still present when you press F11 but that fills your screen a lot more!

Ahhh, I see now. Everyone always says the narrow the angle down and such, and I never had a clue how to do that. Wouldn't have guessed it was as simple as turning the camera angle. 1 year old nubs ftw!!!
