My mother and father visited his grave some years before i was born... I will visit his grave with an woman that loves the Doors and Mr Jim/ James as much as i do ( I am 21 and have been listening to the Doors since i was 9 ) We will take a glass of wine ( any kind ) And we will say the magic words : May you rest in peace Sir Jim, you will always have an place in our hearts, cause you where the best and will always be the best artist that earth has had.

Afterwards, a little artsy store outside the cemetary had Jim T-shirts from Pere Lachaise, but on a recent visit to Venice Beach, I did not leave this shirt anywhere, but instead wore it every other day.

I saw the grave in 1989, didn't look anything like what you see here. It was just a large stone with his name on in . People had scratched peace signs in the O's in his name. There was only one other person there so I got her to take a picture of me sitting next to it.

I saw Jim's grave in 1993, you could still sit by his grave, graffiti covered all the outer graves, a fan tried to roll a joint and tried to bribe the security with no avail. It is not the same today, caged off like a monkey cage. The same cat is there though, weird he must be Jim's guardian, I would want a guardian cat too...

I took this exact trip 3 times in my life when I worked fro KLM in Amsterdam and New York City. The first trip was his original head stone with the bust of Jim on top. Trip 2 & 3 was the stone in this video. I could not have captured a more precise video of the images in my mind...how very cool.

The grave has since been moved and I have not been back to see him. Hopefully someday I will.

They fucking put graffitti all over Jims monument and there was so much damage done to the cemetary due to people partying and acting like assholes that they actally had to move Morrisons fucking coffin to an unknown, remote area in fear of it being dug up. Now all that stands is some monument. Stuff that into your pretty song. Morrison made attempts to sober up but died of drugs and alcohol abuse at a young age.

This is how I remember the grave from 1985, when I was 14. But then the head was still there, painted with all kinds of colors, especially green. It was so easy to find him, because everywhere I looked I saw his name. Next year in may I will visit him again. Can't wait. Love You, Jim.
