There are many jobs women can perform in the Navy, but they DO NOT belong on submarines. Congress has NO business using the US Military for social experiments. That they do so, is only undermining unit cohesion and effectiveness.
Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! It is a mistake to let woman serve in combat and especially in the confined space of a Naval ship. I have a friend who was on a carrier when women first came on board. He got to see the before and after and he said women on the boat fucked everything up. This shit is so obvious. Our military has turned into a bunch of politically correct bureaucratic pansies that carry stress cards to get out tough training . We will never win another war until we purge all this bullshit.
@VintageAntique This has nothing to do with being subservient. This has everything to do with money, and the fact that women CANNOT do the physical work of a man. Period. We don't have the millions need to make subs "gender neutral". The Navy is not a fucking social experiment. It's a combatant service. Women have DESTROYED the combat effectiveness of the Navy. We spend more time with EEO training than we do with mission specific training. Total bullshit.
@devildoc225 Believe what you want, but I bet there are millions of women who can excel at what they put their minds to. As long as they meet the physical requirements, it should matter whether they have a vagina or a penis. It seems to have everything to do with men's egos, though.
@VintageAntique To correct you, they DO NOT meet the same physical requirements as men. That is a matter of fact, and also of Naval Regulation in regards to Physical Fitness Testing standards. This has NOTHING to do with ego, and everything to do with women NOT MEETING THE SAME STANDARDS.
@VintageAntique It's not a matter of opinion. It's a matter of physiological fact. We had a little competition a while back in one of the damage control trainers... We had a mens team, and a womens team. The women could not get their damage control fittings in place, and thus preventing loss of the ship due to sinking, anywhere near as fast as the men. The women could only complete 2 out of the seven evolutions. It's not opinion, it's fact backed up with real world evidence.
@VintageAntique You just don't get it. THEY AREN'T "PERFORMING THE JOB WELL". This is not some game where you get a "do over", or a "training time out". This is about combat effectiveness. We don't get second chances. This is something you dreamers in liberal land fail to understand.
@devildoc225 And you're stuck in your conservative world where everything is backwards. You also make unfair generalizations about women. There are strong women out there. What about Joan of Arc? She disguised herself as a man and led troops into battle. Women have ALWAYS been involved in the military. Women enlisted as men in the civil war. You can't stop them from pursuing their goals.
@VintageAntique No, I'm stuck in reality. And the reality is that women reduce the combat effectiveness of the units they are in. It's a fact that many don't want released. I don't have time to worry about whether or not somebody is going after a goal. The only goal I have is not getting killed. As we told the female in Iraq, in 2003, when she complained about having to take a dump in the open..."Welcome to equality, we have no time to build you a bathroom sweetie"...
@VintageAntique Let them go play in the technological fields. We have no time for the excuses in the grunt end of combat. Too many lives are lost because people can't tow the line. You won't understand that until you were facing the receiving end of enemy weapons
@devildoc225 Yet you're still ignoring the women who had to go to great lengths to prove that they were able to keep up with the boys. Maybe you're just bitter. I don't expect you to change your mind, so don't expect me to change mine.
@VintageAntique I'm not ignoring anything because they have not proved they can "keep up with the boys". As I said, they are held to a lower physical readiness standard than the men. Those are the facts. My opinion is based on fact, and regulations. Until they hold woment to the EXACT SAME PHYSICAL STANDARD as the men, I will NOT change my opinion.
@devildoc225 Look up Joan of Arc, look up James Gray who assumed a man's name and joined the Royal Marines. Malinda Blalock joined the Army and successfully completed her duties just as well as a man. Albert Cashier, a woman, fought in over 40 battles under Ulysses S. Grant. Frances Clayton joined the army as a man, later when her husband died she revealed her identity and was given an honorable discharge. I could go on.
@VintageAntique Joan the Arc was a barbarian she wasnt raised in a Modern Society, in ancient times yes woman where alot stronger, you liberals forget times where different, learn your Historcal Facts correctly and STATE all the facts not partial.
It's very progressive of the Navy to let women onto submarines now. I was told years ago it was restricted in the event of a pregnancy having to abort missions. I'm sure these first women being chosen are of the utmost professionalism, but being an attractive and intelligent blonde, I'm sure the sailors are going to be hounding. Good luck Midshipman FC Bittner!
porn and cigaretts are sold on the boat like they are in prison. They have no idea whats coming for them

@devildoc225 The only reason the Admirals agreed to it is because they are as gutless as the "Poser in Chief".
