I can just see that trailer slipping at slamming the propane tank into a rock and detonating both tanks and launching that jeep into the air, great idea though however i would put the fuel tanks more in the middle away from being hit, i would buy one just have to redesign first with gas tanks more safe
Of course, the military towed trailers like that (carrying tents, supplies, field kitchens, mobile radio facilities, etc), using the small Army jeep with tiny, fuel efficient, 4-cylinder engine, throughout the world for nearly 60 years.
@stewartx5 well no that was the land rover that did the work for most of the world and the most used jeep model in WWII was the ford gp not the jeep jeeep just coppied the idea go toyota the japs used to do it better lol
Good driving and I have to give him respect just for taking that trailer and getting it through fantastic!! With a jeep of all tow vehicles (no offense but a 302 or 351 powered bronco 350 powered FJ or something bigger is what I would have figured to tow something that sturdy)
Blowjobclinton, you're a moron. You're probably one of those mall crawlers who lifts a vehicle, adds chrome and then is afraid to leave the pavement. At least we know we'll be where you can never go and enjoy the great outdoors.
there are a lot of things that can go wrong if you just floor it over this type of surface. so and steady is a better approach at a surface that you have never crossed before.
I have no idea how he is doing that with a ball hitch. I have a M416 4x4 trailer with a pintle hitch and 31's on it and it articulates nicely. You would think a ball hitch would pop off at some point.
@pureoffroad Not that I noticed a shot of it, but I figure the Jeep had a pintle hook the trailer a tow eye/ring. Nothing fancy, but allows for all sorts of articulation
I tow a 1900lb tent trailer - and have, all over the US from S.D. to CO to CA without any problems. 1600lbs is a lot for the trail...a lot. I am not sure how this thing is equipped, but if they got it through the Rubi then they got it through more than most people will ever do!
I've been told that the wrangler is really bad at towing (at least on road) along with a whole bunch of other stuff such as it being a gas guzzler, not enough space (although I've just put a deposit on the unlimited rubicon), too noisy on highways... true or crap?
I've got a hard top and complete doors and get very little noise even at 90mph and i get about 22-24 average freeway mileage with a stock 92 six cyl. I love my jeep :-)
I love my jeep, I have a TJ (2000)I am running tall tires, and getting about 18 to 19 MPG, with the 6 cyl 4.0L I have hard doors and a soft top, the noise isn't too bad, and if it dose get bad, all you gotta do is turn on the fan and have it pull air from the outside, and it blows the top up like a baloon, and kills the noise :)
LOL, funny thing, I DO understand. Didn't get the JK wrangler, got a TJ wrangler - I don't care that it sucks the fuel - the feeling you get when driving it can't be compared! I'm already scoping out a lift kit and fat ass tyres - I got da bug bad! Incidentally the road noise is not even noticeable. Got the full doors. Haven't tried towing as yet....
Awesome, up until Kris Kross took over the airways. Propane tank looks a little too exposed for me, and have you given any thought towards articulating the trailer axle itself, keeping the weight a little more neutral? Very nice video, worth the time.

these don't use ball or pin hitch's they use a special bolt on hinge system

My only worry would be overheating.

I tow a little trailer with a 1991YJ they do great as long as your trailer is not longer then
the Jeep . Jeeps are mad to tow bash and crash and do it again and again. That driver kicks butt way to go only in a jeep!!!!!!!!!!!!

It depends. If you have the half doors and a soft top then there is some highway noise. But with full doors and a hard top ist not that bad

A lift and big tires will only make u a concrete cowboy unless u actually plan on using it for what its meant to be used for!
