@tubub ROTC plays Army on the weekends and on Thursdays when its ACU lab day, being at West Point you are in the army every damn minute, and are reminded of it...
@tubub When you become busy 18 hours of day and usually more and this lasts approximately a four year period feel free to write back, until then you wouldn't understand what its like.
@tubub Congratulations, you found a grammatical error in my writing. I'm sorry, like I said, we are busy. I don't have time to go through with tooth and comb my writing, especially when it comes to petty youtube comments. But I appreciate your use of a red herring in regards to my grammar, shows you really know how to make arguments. oh yea..go ahead and look it up since I'm sure you don't even know what it means... I've enjoyed our argument and thanks for participating, try again next time.
You're such a pompous, self-aggrandizing ass it's no wonder that a lot of generals in the Army try to prevent West Point cadets from getting into their units... why? Because you're a bunch of arrogant assholes.
@tubub Most generals, if not all, are West Point grads. Every high level echelon of the military is practically old grads, so your argument is irrational. I hear nothing but praise from every spectrum of the army. And I'm not pompus, I just enjoy arguing.
Haha me too but still, read Thomas E. Rick's reporting on most of the Army's perception of West Point.
While many upper echelons of the military are West Point grads, most generals are certainly not West Point grads(It would be correct to say "many", but given the amount of generals that are in the American military compared with the amount of West Point grads that pursue the military as career it is clear there is at least as many if not more ROTC grads.)
The Bronze Star? Given out like candy in OIF and OEF. That's what the Army needs....more intellectuals. That's grand and wonderful...top 5%. However, it doesn't do the Army any better than someone who graduated in the middle of their class.
The Coast Guard Academy is typically the most difficult service academy to which one can gain entrance. Across the board, average SAT scores, percentage of inductees who were valedictorian of their high school class, physical fitness test scores and other factors are higher. The Coast Guard Academy also takes in far fewer applicants. In other words, there are fewer seats so competition is stiffer.
I've put my "boots on the ground" and I've sat in that same auditorium and have listened to those same lectures. Most of the Army is CS and CSS anyways. That's why there always seemed to be more pogues on the FOB than there were Soldiers embedded in the city eating MRE's while their pogue friends were eating KBR cake and ice cream. The Coast Guard does more real law enforcement work on the water than the entire MP Corps does on land.
Search for "Colegio Militar Dormidos", and you'll find a collection of pictures of argentine army cadets falling asleep. Just to show it does not only happens in West Point
I remeber this particular lecture- good thing about the Dress Greys was that they were so damn tight the collar would literally keep your head upright while you slept...
Oh dude, I hate those things more than anything, I don't even bother trying to stay awake anymore. I've found if I tuck my neck into my D/G it actually looks like I'm awake.
Did that last guy that stayed slept got in trouble afterwards? Hope not. The funny thing is that you actually fall sleep faster if you try to stay awake, and your head goes up and down until you finally drop.
Oh, fuck Robinson Auditorium lectures. This shit causes me major PTSD. I totally blocked all memories of this bullshit. I feel so sorry for any of you fuckers that haven't graduated yet.
Stand your ass up you pogues! Nice to see how much discipline you future REMF's have. No wonder the Army can't find decent officers with both hands and a map.
Yeah. He who has never 'sinned' cast the first stone. You obviously have never sat through the dreaded Mandlebrot Set lecture or even know what one is, for that matter. Until you've sat through four years of that crap, sit down, shut up and enjoy your Ozzie.
It's about leadership, not about who else is "sinning" or has "sinned." They're cadets, not lemmings. If you feel they don't have to take personal responsibility for their behavior in a lecture hall, then when exactly should they start?
I suppose that's why they have to pay the good Captain's $30K+ to stay in for a few extra years instead of resigning their commission. A lifetime of service to the nation eh? Yeah. I had to memorize the Purpose and Mission once too.
Have you actually been to a mandatory lecture at 7 or 8 at night about something you have no interest in (the f---ing mandlebrot set or something of that nature).
Some of these kids have been up since before 5am studying or working out - for multiple days/weeks/months. They don't take a military sicence course, they live this stuff for 4 years. It's always been this way at West Point and it will always be this way. It teaches ou to get some zzz's whenever you can!
I have labs at 6 pm twice a week till 9 pm. I have PT at 6 am(up at 5 am) 3 times a week and the occasional FTX. But your right westpoint is worse. Never would go there.
I remember sleeping through Al Gore's speech. You know, the deep, drooling type of sleep!
