@CathrineRJ I really can't say. That depends on so many factors such as talent, on which age you start, how much you practice, what you want to play and what your expectations are. I've played for about 10 years now but it doesn't mean you'll need the same amount of time. There are much younger people who can play better. But i think you can play simple melodys on a slow tempo in not too much amount of time.
