i got a 9 yr old nokia 7650 with bluetooth i bought for £20 bout 8yrs ago, works fine still , perfect replacement for a modern phone with free pay n go sim... I hate mobiles too :)

I hate people that use smartphones because thats all they do!!! That is their life... they show it off like it's worth something? Especially Teen kids... they act like it's worth everything, if I we're to work for a week, I could buy 1 easily... I know how to use it perfectly, but it's so fucking annoying! Every 5 seconds, someone with an iPhone or some shit will have to show you something thats SO important! And then they text all day, to people they see most of the day! Annoying as fuck!

well one good reason is that when your on your way to work or at a friends house how practical is it to pull out your laptop and start checking your email? or when your at the air port? i think that it is very nice to have a phone that is basically a mini computer in my pocket that i can listen to all my music on and watch a funny you tube vid that my pal sends me

i just bought myself today my first touch screen phone by samsung, through "straight talk", from walmart. i personally miss my old flip phone. i like feeling the button's beneath my fingers. i personally hate if my finger is just slightly off, it presses whatever i don't want.
I misunderstood the title. This guy was just frustrated. I actually hate the technology. Who the hell ever thought it would be a good idea to carry around a telephone? I shut mine off when I get home from work. I don't text on it(juvenile), I use my computer to browse the internet, I take photos with a real honest-to-goodness CAMERA. My phone does all these things but I just don't care. I wish I never had one. It was nice when they first came out and all you could do was make calls.
ANYONE who takes and posts those horrid quality video clips, taken by their cell phone, should be may to endure all future colonostophy's given with that same camera.
@carsruleok you are crazy i use my phone for all sorts of things like i in the morning (while on the bus) i have the school im going to send me emails reminding me when things are due so i never forget any assignments. or i go and surft the web to check what my grade is in the class. i dont think that they are toys at all. they can act as one with games and stuff but they can be legitimate productivity devices
Sorry mate,I just have a basic k800i and don't really do a lot with it.Make the odd call and text and thats about it.Can be useful if I suddenly need to take a photo though.Suppose I just dont rely on it so much.
people misuse them,use them while driving,walking or whatever,find them very unsocial.Noisy on the train.They are toys for bored people.I rarely surf the internet when I am out and about..Applies to most phones not just I-Phones though although they seem over-hyped.

Most phones are touchscreen candybars now which I don't have much of a problem with, but people are griping over their overall designs as if they really matter.....cause they all look similar....*facepalm* either way, any one of those are better than the iphone. The UI used to be something to talk about, but it's really plain and ugh now compared to everything else.

(atleast here in my country) Why do I need a crappy 2 megapixel camera in a phone, when I have a 10 megapixel pro. camera? Why do I need mp3 on my phone when I have my personal mp3? Why do I need such epxensive phone and I will beat the hell out of me when I break it or drop it?? Thats why I use a 2$ phone only to call.

The only horror story i have when it comes to phones is the massive $700 bill i had, This was on the $79 cap which automatically gives me $550 worth of calls which is what made my bill so high.

Get a Nokia N97, N95 broke on me ended up spending a total of over $4,500 fixing it, N97 is very well built feature packed and nice to look at, + people with Iphones tend to say -OHMYGOD WELL IPHONES STILL THE WORLDS BEST PHONE- when they know, it really isnt...

I have a Samsung Gravity and it's a good touch screen phone. I think I do spend too much time on it, but I like being able to check my email on the go.

I have to admit, even tho I'm a gadget freak and have an N95, and am considering when i might want to upgrade to the N97 or whatever, I really almost never use the camera, rarely use the browser (it's still a bit slow over wifi), and the maps on the gps kinda suck.
I have an old NOKIA, it's like 7 years old, but it still works perfect! I had a funny accident with it! It was like 3 years ago! I was sitting on the toilet during using my phone and the phone fell into the toilet!
I was taken out the phone and dried it, and it still works! And i'm still using that phone! Nice, isn't it! And the best thing in it like it was only cost 1000 Ft.! (3,66 €)

I still use a basic Nokia 2100 that I bought 5 years ago and it's better than any new one you can get.
i'm a massive fan of apple Macs, but i agree - I HATE iPhones. WTF is the point? I'm attatched to facebook 24/7 anyways, so why would I want to be even more antisocial and check it on my phone at say a party for example.

stranded Telstra procedure if the customer isn't with Telstra is to take credit card details and issue a loan phone. Now this is for 2 reasons one is of course so that the customer returns the loan phone or we charge them, the other is if the phone is water damaged or physically damaged(not covered by warranty) then the $50 fee for the repair center can be debited of the card(stranded terms for all providers i know of)
The best phone you can buy is Samsung D900i which has a great camera, radio, mp3 and memory stick car. What more could you want? It also has relaxation music which is actually pretty nice to listen to if you are in a bad mood.
So yeah buy Samsung D900i. It's a nice slider, very slim with a huge screen.
About 4 years ago a motorola flippy phone. I'd bought the phone & the insurance from Argos. The ear peice had gone on it, the only way i could hold a conversation (where I could hear anyone) was to constantly have it on loudspeaker (its nice to have the world hearing your conversation) so I took it back to Argos & said they'd repair it, 6 long weeks later, they call me and ask me to go to their store, just to tell me that my phone was just over a year old, therefore expiring the insurance!!!
I actually hate the iPhone loads of my friends have them and they are in love with them.. reasons beyond my understanding obviously! lol Love you!! haha

I hate phones all together, and i hate telstra lol, if i didnt need a phone then i wouldnt have one. I went looking for a new phone cos my phone is a heap of shit, anyway i was looking the nokia n85. I go to one shop a telstra shop and they want $850, so i said o thanks i just wanted a price. So i walked out and walk 20 meters down to the next shop which is a fone zone shop and thy wanted $1120 for it? WTF? they are the same phone and the same provider....... why is the price so high?

I hate phones because they're a waste of money - come on. All the monthly fees, and to buy a new phone or battery, it's ridiculous. I hate them even more because everyone spends too much damn time using them, go do something please. Go talk to someone instead of texting them, better yet talk to me instead of texting people and barely responding to me when I'm actually wasting my time with you in person.

I was using it one day and the thing started acting up again and I said to the person I was with "that's it...I'm fed up"...quite calmly I might add...then I whipped the thing as hard as I could at the sidewalk....and we both started laughing. And I haven't had one since. I also never paid the bill. I told them come after me and they never did shit.

How many people can they have to talk to all day everyday unless they are running a business but most people are not. also a phone should be just a phone not a camera internet e-mail texting gps music and all of other unneccesary bullshit that is on them. personally I love phones. "Phone" was my third word as a baby in fact lol. I live in the states and I do have an iPhone but I don't work for an office lol. It serves me well because I'm always out but it keeps me connected to everything wherever I am. I don't know if you have AT&T where you live but with them I have full bars everywhere.

The only horror story i have when it comes to phones is the massive $700 bill i had, This was on the $79 cap which automatically gives me $550 worth of calls which is what made my bill so high.
I got an iPhone and love hi :P

Get a Nokia N97, N95 broke on me ended up spending a total of over $4,500 fixing it, N97 is very well built feature packed and nice to look at, + people with Iphones tend to say -OHMYGOD WELL IPHONES STILL THE WORLDS BEST PHONE- when they know, it really isnt...

I have to admit, even tho I'm a gadget freak and have an N95, and am considering when i might want to upgrade to the N97 or whatever, I really almost never use the camera, rarely use the browser (it's still a bit slow over wifi), and the maps on the gps kinda suck.

I have an old NOKIA, it's like 7 years old, but it still works perfect! I had a funny accident with it! It was like 3 years ago! I was sitting on the toilet during using my phone and the phone fell into the toilet!
I was taken out the phone and dried it, and it still works! And i'm still using that phone! Nice, isn't it! And the best thing in it like it was only cost 1000 Ft.! (3,66 €)

you kno.... bullsh't to iphones... i have a nokia brick phone. just texts and calls.Cause there's no more stupit functions and acessories, i leave it on for 1 week and its 1 quarter battery left and once i dropped it on the pavement, it bounced back up right into my hand, still working, and it has never frozen once or had any problems. and whatjaknow? IT COST A DAMN CHEAP 30$! and i reckon its better than all that 1000$ iphone junk

i'm a massive fan of apple Macs, but i agree - I HATE iPhones. WTF is the point? I'm attatched to facebook 24/7 anyways, so why would I want to be even more antisocial and check it on my phone at say a party for example.
really, its all a load of crap.
In terms of what is a good phone, I have a vintage nokia. no internet, not even capable of taking photos. who cares? it calls and txts, and doesnt break when i drop it. I love my phone 100%.

stranded Telstra procedure if the customer isn't with Telstra is to take credit card details and issue a loan phone. Now this is for 2 reasons one is of course so that the customer returns the loan phone or we charge them, the other is if the phone is water damaged or physically damaged(not covered by warranty) then the $50 fee for the repair center can be debited of the card(stranded terms for all providers i know of)

The best phone you can buy is Samsung D900i which has a great camera, radio, mp3 and memory stick car. What more could you want? It also has relaxation music which is actually pretty nice to listen to if you are in a bad mood.
So yeah buy Samsung D900i. It's a nice slider, very slim with a huge screen.

About 4 years ago a motorola flippy phone. I'd bought the phone & the insurance from Argos. The ear peice had gone on it, the only way i could hold a conversation (where I could hear anyone) was to constantly have it on loudspeaker (its nice to have the world hearing your conversation) so I took it back to Argos & said they'd repair it, 6 long weeks later, they call me and ask me to go to their store, just to tell me that my phone was just over a year old, therefore expiring the insurance!!!

I hate phones too this year so far i have had 4 new cell phones I got the pease of shit iPhone hated it worth less and like you said everyone has one so their no good and then I had a blackberry pearl liked it but the toliet ate it so i got the black berry bold and i gess some guy liked it cause he took it and now im happy with the 400 dollar t-mobile G1 and yea it sounds stupid to pay so much but its totaly worth it unlike the iPhone it have wifi and its amazing GET IT
