@MrsMattewKnight011 If you're in 7th grade and reading this then that's very impressive! Good work!! It's a great poem. You should ask your teacher if you can read "Leaden Echo/ Golden Echo" by Gerard Manley Hopkins. It's another good one. Keep on reading them! It will do you much good.
I found out about this poem in the 10th grade..and i am way in college..I love this poem..it has a rhythm hard to make justice to in songs...i love when it says " i'll come to the by moon..." that part with the repetition..BEAUTIFUL.
Takes me back to 1966 when I learnt the first verse for school exams. I lenjoyed it then and love it now. It really got my imagination going! All those metaphors!
One thing I never got over, why didn't the landlord help his daughter?

@lpeter2k11 I'm thinking they killed him. Marched in, said no word to him, killed him and began to drink his liquor.

I enjoyed this very much. I have been asked to recite it at the funeral of a friend's mother.

An exemplary performance! Perhaps no other poem in our glorious language can so vividly paint a picture of tragedy in the mind's eye. Thank you Tom.
