  • check it out at your local blockbuster or hollywood video. just ask for it and they'll have it

  • Reshreshingly different to the usual American movies.

I read the book after watching the film and the film follows the book quite well except there is a lot more graphic detail in the book.

Definitely a good movie & good book despite it being quite heart wrenching in places.

  • i just saw the movie today..tear jerky! :(

now i'm looking for the book! :)

  • the book is the most amazing book you'll ever read! read his second book "a thousand splendid suns" omg. thats a book! Khaled is so great!

  • thanks for the advise. i'll look for that aslo..spread the love...hehe :]

  • :] ,

  • @nadiiyaa it is a typical "make you feel good at the end" type of book. Nothing special. There is a clear bias theme. The author doesn't exactly explains why the war has started and practically all he stops intersects with the theme after Baba gets shot by that Russian dude, while the 10 years of Talib tyranny are left behind the curtains and slightly explained by Hassan's son being raped.

  • @nadiiyaa Plus there's a huge use of foreign words in the middle of the book. Probably because the author ran out of ideas and had to keep the audience from falling asleep. The idea of Soraya running away is useless and has a lot of week parts. His description of their first night reminds of a soft porn story. Overall, the book is not that horrible and has some good parts. It's like a pile of crap with a thousand dollar bill hidden under it. You have to get stinky to get rich.

  • An extremely brilliant story, you will cry and become extremely upset. Bring tissues.

  • Im a grown man, and i cried like a baby. It was a great movie...this is the kind of movie that in my world would be up for best picture, not "no country for old men."

  • Does anyone here know the name of the Rumi poem Amir recites while being in the trailer with his dad?

    Greetings from Mexico!

  • I watched this movie yesterday, it was very nice but sad... It's worth to watch it... It's 2 hrs of movie, but you don't feel the time goes by... It catches ur attention.

  • Very nice movie, made me cry at times, music by sami was great as usally.

    You can watch it online

    watch-movies dot net/movies/the_kite_runner/

    good print

  • I AM SO EAGER TO WATCH THE FILM! i love the book like most of you...and just cant wait till it hits theaters here in the philippines....i know it already has a lot of oscar buzz....so im expecting it to be a good one as well!! KUDOS!

  • Hope it's good, but a lot of the surface details got overlooked...why's Soraya wearing a white wedding dress instead of the wine-red traditional one? Assef's not blond (to cut out his Nazi speech?), and Hassan the kid version looks a wee bit pudgy to be a deprived servant boy.

  • I went to an advance screening - the movie is worth seeing, bring a handerchief.

  • hell ya i get to go to an early showing tomorow with my english class..... hopefully its as good as the book

  • this was an amazing movie. i recommend reading the book first though. i was sobbing. bring tissues

  • absoulutely agree, really hope they do a good job.although at the moment it definately looks like they are focusing more heavily on Amir's life AFTER leaving for the US.that could be disapointing were they to miss such a great story, that of Amir's earlier youth.
