I always thought that MN wasnt a friendly state for full autos. How hard is it for someone to get started into the full auto stuffin MN? Heard the full auto weapons are also expensive to purchase aswell.
@corp20022 Without a license, you are restricted to full auto guns on the BATFE's Curio & Relic list (a list of guns 50 years or older). C&R guns are HUGELY expensive, which is the main obstacle to owning one.
@lalokloko It was an MP-43. It's stamped right on the side of the gun. That series of guns was renamed MP-44, and even later StG-44. The gun is the same, the name was changed twice.
@jagsrule99 What grease gun? We didn't HAVE a US made M-3 .45 submachinegun "grease gun" there! The popular name for the MP-40 submachinegun with Allied soldiers was "burp gun" and it was also incorrectly called a "Schmeisser". Although, Hugo Schmeisser had little to do with development of this gun, aside from having several of his design ideas on submachineguns copied into the MP-40, which was made at Erma factory, not at Haenel where Schmeisser was working at the time.
That looks like a blast, I'm envious. I'd love to have a shoot out day like that. Unfortunately I'm no so fortunate, still a nice collection of nice guns. I prefer older guns to be honest. That MP44 looks like alot of fun. So does the MG-42. I've shot the MP40 before. I was su rprised by how light the recoil was. Virtually no muzzle climb. I'm glad you all had so much fun. Oh and the Walker Colt, the catch for the loading lever needs a replacement I think.
@AduneStormwind Thanks for the comment. If you are in MN, you should attend next year's shoot. The Walker's catch weakness is typical of that design, Even the original ones do that.
@CoIdHeat Just after WWII, some soldiers never turned in their weapons, and brought them home. They also brought back many captured German ones, some of which I now own. The military no longer allows this. You cannot even bring back a captured bayonet now. The good days are gone.
@bioboi66 Actually, it was a .50 calibre pistol, a Desert Eagle. Lotsa whallop power. The shooter in this vid tried it for the first time and didn't stiffen his wrist enough. After all, it was his first try, but funny to watch.
@DARIVSARCHITECTVS I know the 2nd time it showed up it looked like a 50 cal but the 1st time it didnt look like it had enough power. or hes just really good at it.
@DARIVSARCHITECTVS HEY MAN...I like to learn to use a gun..I dont want to kill anyone, I just love to show my competance front of others...I am about 20..how do I start?
@DEALERONE112 It is possible that the weapons were illegal. If the weapons require a license or permit to own and you don't have one, then yes.. they can be confiscated by Law Enforcement. Different states have different laws. Some allow machineguns, some don't. You have to ask about the circumstances around what happened to your friend's Grandfather's guns and know the laws in your area.
good video mate for sure. The only thing I hate to see are all kinds of people firing the loooong rambo burst on a fully auto weapon. When i was in the service i was a 249 gunner and i would have been pummeled by my platoon sgt if he would have seen me fire a burst like that.
@galbas78 I fully agree! But at the moment we are NOT being shot at, and do NOT have to conserve ammo. We are just out having some fun. If you want to see how an MG-42 SHOULD be fired, see my other video "MG-42 Light Machinegun". Burst fire is so fast from this gun that even the shortest burst throws out 6-8 rounds. Just be glad YOU don't have to carry the ammo to keep a hungry gun like this fed! 8mm cans of 250 rounds each weigh a LOT. All you have to carry is .308!
@liftwaffe Yeah, well, new shooters have to start somewhere. If you are such a critic of amateur shooters, stop watching my vids. You'll just hurt yourself. I'm real sure YOU are an expert in everything.
The AK-47 is superior to the MP-43 in almost every way. It was developed using several features from many rifles in a new an uniquely reliable way. The AK-47 may not be the most accurate rifle on the field, but I would say it is the best blend of a range of features you need in an assault rifle.
i think the rifle on 3:48 isn't the mp 43 MP means actually in german Maschinenpistole (maschinepistol) this one showed at that scene is the STG 44 STG means STurm Gewehr, which means assault rifle.
Well, you shour read about the history of the StG-44. Everyone knows the MP-43 was the official name of the first version of the sturmgewehr. GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND. USE IT.
that assault rifle was referred to under the MP name as Hitler was against the development of an assault rifle. that will not be any problem, i have 5 world war 2 guns and an ar15 and an m4, world war 2 weapons being a scoped springfield, a mosin nagant, a kar 98k, an mp40 and a thompson with a round drum
um a.50 action express is not a 44 mag, its not even close, del please think before you comment, .50 ae is a 50 CAL round hence the .50 Action Express, not a .44 mag.
Do your homework Chris. That gun IS an MP-43 and it is so marked. The gun was renamed StG 44 two models LATER. Having a grandfather in the Waffen SS doesn't mean you are an expert, so don't laugh at others when YOU are wrong.
You are right! MP does mean Maschinenpistole. The reason why the earlier versions of this gun were called machine pistols was to hide the fact that they were developing the gun from Hitler! Hitler told them NOT to develop it TWICE before he finally accepted it under pressure from military officers who supported the weapon.
Don't want to be a safety nazi, but isn't it a bad idea to load the Desert Eagle by jamming the round into the chamber from the open slide and then letting the slide go back into battery? In my neighbor's 1911 manual, it says it can cause a slam fire or something of the sort.
I don't know why closing the slide with a round in the chamber would cause a slam fire unless the firing pin was stuck in the forward position. We have never had a problem with the Desert Eagle or any other firearm loading in this manner. Of course, if it were to discharge due a sensitive primer, you would want to always keep the weapon pointed in a safe direction.
I thought primarily at all machine gun shoots safety came first. If you as the one resposible thinks its safe for a friend to shoot machine guns wearing flip-flops, then let him take that chance of possibly slipping while firing. Maybe he'll slip right out of them one time and have an accident that you and he may regret for the rest of your lives. If you can't see the serious side of the comment, you need more help than I can give by pointing it out in this informal blog.
I do see the serious side, and if I'd known they were going to show up in flip flops, I would have said something. That aside, I think you should also learn to lighten up a bit and take note that if you can do a lot better, that do more than just talk about it. Put your own ego on the chopping block and make a video. I'm sure if all you here is negative comments, you'd understand more that you do now.
YOU are the one that sets the safety rules and if the rules are not followed those people DON'T shoot. Maybe you could get a group together to form a safety committee and review the tapes to see what possible accidents COULD have happened at each of the shoots and how you might make them a better and safer shoot. Hollywood has a VERY strict safety code about automatic weapons on the set. It's made to look crazy and cool by way of special effects and editing. Happy film making, but be safe.
wow i`d love to get my hands on some of these weapons.they seem wasted on the folks in this video.maybe they should start off target shootin some 22`s would be a lot safer as well.happy hunting
Wasted? Hardly! All of me shooter friends fully appreciate the rarity and colectability of these weapons, whether they are familiar with them or not! The guy who cuts the stock of a vet bringback German k98 down to make a deer hunting rifle.. now THAT is a WASTE.
Actually the gun in the video is marked MP-43, so it IS an MP-43. Mine is an MP-44, and that is what is stamped on it. My other friend's is a late war StG-44... all three are almost exactly the same gun! The name was changed twice during production during the war. Consult Wikipedia for details
Some of us are experienced shooters (some military trained like me) and some are not. Either way, we had a lot of fun trying out new weapons, many of which we have never seen before.
Many gun stores have M1 Carbines. You can find one at a local gunshow starting at $650 on up depeding on condition. The one in this video belonged to the shooter's grandfather, who carried it in the Pacific against the Japanese.
can the people stop talking so much!!!!

how much does a class III license cost?
ohare27L 2 years ago
is that a 50 or 44 dessert eagle
SkAteAdI0579 2 years ago
That desert eagle was in .50 AE caliber. The owner actually recommended buying the .44 because the ammo was MUCH less expensive.

wow i`d love to get my hands on some of these weapons.they seem wasted on the folks in this video.maybe they should start off target shootin some 22`s would be a lot safer as well.happy hunting
prodeoetpatria1691 3 years ago
Wasted? Hardly! All of me shooter friends fully appreciate the rarity and colectability of these weapons, whether they are familiar with them or not! The guy who cuts the stock of a vet bringback German k98 down to make a deer hunting rifle.. now THAT is a WASTE.
DARIVSARCHITECTVS 3 years ago
oye its not a mp 43 but a 44
SStotenkopfgruppen 3 years ago
Actually the gun in the video is marked MP-43, so it IS an MP-43. Mine is an MP-44, and that is what is stamped on it. My other friend's is a late war StG-44... all three are almost exactly the same gun! The name was changed twice during production during the war. Consult Wikipedia for details

Really nice video ! Keep those coming !
The best of luck to you !
jaspercharliestephen 3 years ago
Keep your elbows down when you fire... and push the MG forward to prevent it from "blowing back" on firing.
You guys got a couple of nice guns but very poor shooting technique to really appreciate the workmanship of those weapons.

Some of us are experienced shooters (some military trained like me) and some are not. Either way, we had a lot of fun trying out new weapons, many of which we have never seen before.

M1 carbines rock... Where can i get one of those?
Argile99 3 years ago
Many gun stores have M1 Carbines. You can find one at a local gunshow starting at $650 on up depeding on condition. The one in this video belonged to the shooter's grandfather, who carried it in the Pacific against the Japanese.

Where did you find that STG 44?
xplaykid 3 years ago
Dave bought it from another collector. They are rare, but available.
DARIVSARCHITECTVS 3 years ago
Bet it wasn't cheap.
xplaykid 3 years ago
Nope... but that's we work so hard... So we can play with this stuff on the weekends.
DARIVSARCHITECTVS 3 years ago
Ever been to knobs creek?
colonelporpoise 3 years ago
Nope.. who need to when we can do this in our friends front yard?
DARIVSARCHITECTVS 3 years ago
So true.......BUT you can buy a MG 34 there!!
Ever fire a ppsh 41?
colonelporpoise 3 years ago
You can buy NFA weapons elsewhere too, often cheaper. never fired a PPSH-41 before. I know guys who have them though.
DARIVSARCHITECTVS 3 years ago
What isn't good for me is that you can't buy full automatic firearms in New York.
So when I can, I'm gonna move to MN, or TN.
Can you own full auto's in Michigan or Wisconsin? What about North Dakota?
