I was at this concert in Chicago's Grant Park, and I am amazed to see that the percussionist with the antler horns is highlighted! The only comparable experience I have had was when I was in Nairobi at the Carnivore Restaurant outdoors when similarly dressed Nubians carted around whole-game on a spit so that they could carve you a portion at your table with long Scimitars. Thanks a Million for posting this. I would never have expected to see this ever again. Space is the Place!

The concept was to give other instruments to drummers who couldn't play other instruments, then get a gullible financier, even more gullible patrons, and conceal the losses/profits as the case may be. They'd have made a lot more money today. (Some scams are ahead of their time as some times are ahead of their scams as some heads are ahead of their heads.)
i had never seen a Sun Ra show before like this before, and let me tell you, he was way under rated, this is high quality stuff; and they were so ignored by the money making monster, that art and pure culture were damaged by that mentality...
I remember seeing the live broadcast of this on PBS in 1981. It was a real event to me. The energy, the boldness of it all. I'd been working on being a Ra fan for a few years at this point. This was one of those signposts that sealed the deal. It was just so fearless and transcending, the doors of the horizon suddenly thrown open, the cosmos revealed. C,mon nonwave1, let's see parts 3-6,7,8,,, Thanks for reminding me why I love this man and this music.

ダンスの振り付けにキャサリン・ダナムの姿を思い浮かべた。サン・ラはジャズかとういうと、よーわからんところがオモロイんではないか。聴きながらボケーーーっとするのが気持ちいい。

I miss Sunny and John bigtime! @Vokshumana, Miles definitely got more of Sun Ra than Sunny did of Miles!! They were both double Gemini's too!

He did not die, because he was not born. He just left the planet. Maybe he'll visit some time?

Miles Davis talked bad about Sun Ra, but I think he was influenced by him at the time of Bitches Brew.
