  • I miss the old disney the most :') movies like this are our childhood, used to make us dream and teached us lessons even while getting fun xD new disney sucks

they should bring the old back and put the new in the trash, and start making strong characters like this ones that we love, great stories, good music that even if many years pass by we can still remember every single word and make good memories again :) likde the good old days xD

  • who voices rita in oliver and company

  • @therockettes234 Sheryl Lee Ralph (speaking) Ruth Pointer (singing)

  • Is the Song from Soundtrack ?

  • -Dodger taught me that you shouldn’t let everyday worries weigh you down

-Basil of Baker Street taught me that NO one is more clever than YOU

-Bernard and Bianca taught me that no matter your size, personality or whatever, let NOTHING stop you from making a difference

-Marahute taught me to let my imagination and spirit soar

    -And so much more…

And what has the new Disney taught us? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!! Click “Like” if you agree. LONG LIVE OLD SCHOOL DISNEY!!!!

  • at 3:30, there is a Sony advertisment above the screens!

  • Thanks for posting this! Critrics online complain that the music in this movie is "dated." I say, that's what makes it so brilliant. This 80s song rocks!

  • @IcePirate3

I grew up in the 80's/early 90's as a kid and mid late 90s as a teenager. Would Rescuers and Goofy Movie be dated too?

  • @IcePirate3 i saw a summary of critics' reviews on wikipedia and i thought "WTF!" i remember this movie and its songs so well and i was born 5 years after it had come out. stupid critics. what do they know?!?

  • Love this song so much! my fav!

  • I always thought this song sounded like Prince's "Partyman" and Steve Winwood's "Hearts on Fire", all released around the same time. God I miss the late '80s!

  • @WebsterJake

Did you ever see this in theaters when you were 5? i was 7 years old when this first came out in theaters and saw it three times, i even had some of the original merchandise like Mcdonalds finger puppets, Ornuments, stuffed Oliver from sears, PVC toys, a junior novel, the soundtrack, coloring books, a jar with dodger and oliver on it, PJs, t-shirt and a readalong book with cassette. Did you had the same stuff too?

    I am an 80's/early 90's child and mid-late 90's teen myself.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Absotively posilutely.

Right before Christmas of 1988 I saw this movie...but too bad it didn't hit VHS for nearly a decade afterwards. I still notice how some (younger) users are convinced that it came out in 1996. Yeah I remember the O&C toy campaign very well and maybe I've still got a few left in my old toy chest (some stuff was lost when I moved to different houses though).

The funny thing is: I was cruising to work just yesterday and had to play the Oliver & Company CD.

  • @WebsterJake After a year when this movie came out, i wanted it and would ask if O&C was coming to video in various stores in my city when i visited them but nothing happened , i did saw the re-issue in theaters when i was 14 and enjoyed it as much as i did as a kid and even my junior high friends were talking about the TV spots including their memories seeing it as kid and being pissed it never came to video. Remember the Mcdonalds stuff?

  • @Johnlindsey289 Yeah I do. Back then I always went to McDonalds, and my place had a neat playground (now paved-over for parking accommodations). If I knew then what I know now, I would have saved more of my toys or kept them sealed in the packaging!

  • @WebsterJake

Remember the singing ornuments? i had two of those and they are collector's items. Did you also had a readalong book with cassette, soundtrack, a stuffed toy, coloring books, junior novel and even a shirt? and were you also disappointed it never came out on video the next year as it disappeared for 7 years as well and saw the re-issue? i got the CD when i was 14 and on video before going on my yearly trip to Vegas, i did replaced my tape in 2002 with the DVD

  • @Johnlindsey289 Yeah. And I colored all over the books haha. It's too bad traditional animation is all but dead. Newer generations will be missing out on the great stuff we grew up on, I feel bad about that.

  • @WebsterJake

2D is not deaqd it's on TV and direct to video but Disney has more 2D animation movies in store as they are leaving CGI to Pixar despite Tangled was a success, Winnie the Pooh is coming this summer in 2D. There's also Clay Animation and Stop Motion animation thanks to Coraline, Corpse Bride and Wallace and Gromit being box-office successes. Even Hayao Miyazaki and Ghibli's Ponyo was a box-office success here in the states and was 2D, seen it?

  • @Johnlindsey289 Thanks, didn't know that. Must have slept through the last 5 years of pop culture because I got discouraged and thought every new release was going to resemble CGI once and for all, my bad. I haven't seen Ponyo yet, but Winnie the Pooh is okay, I enjoyed those cartoons in my youth ('Welcome to Pooh Corner', 'The New Adventures...').

  • 13 people are definitely not going to survive on the streets lol SUCKERS!!!!! >XD

  • I'm homeless at the moment and I love this song. Sums up living life on the streets perfectly.

  • I saw this movie in theaters when it came out in 1988 when i was 7 years old 3 times when i lived in Omaha and loved it, i had some of the merchandise including Mcdonalds toys to Readalong book with cassette. It was a shame it never came on video the next year or the next but i did enjoyed seeing the re-issue at 14 and owned it on video as i then replaced it in 2002 with the DVD, i enjoy watchng this every December as a tradition.

  • 0:48 "just do a barrel roll!"

  • Great song

  • I love Oliver and Company! <3

Disney is STILL making 2D animated movies, what are you talking about? Tangled is their newest one (that isn't) and Princess and the Frog was their most recent 2D animation...did i miss others?

  • @Ganon500

And i'm glad they are hits, they are leaving CGI to Pixar.

  • @Ganon500

Tangles is a computer generated film.

When people talk about old Disney 2D animated films, they usually mean animated "hand drawn" films like "Oliver and Company" and "The Lion King".

Disney only recently went back to 2D animation with "The Princess and the Frog".

  • @JMDub89 I know Tangled is CGI isn't it their only one? I know what 2D means...what the hell did I even say on the other comment? >_>

  • @Ganon500 Toy story was their first fully CGI movie

  • @DarkSilverHedgehog Toy Story is PIXAR
