Because despite the Rock's movie success, and in ring success there is no way that you can say that he was better than Austin or Hogan for that matter. Without Austin the WWE wouldnt have been nearly as entertaining and i dont think it would have survived without Austin so i think this match should have been Stone Cold vs Hogan or they could have followed this match with Stone Cold vs Goldberg

Austin & Rock worked off each other. Austin and many others in the WWE has said this. They know what they are talking about. Rock was just as imporantt as Austin, especially when Austin was injured and when he walked out in the WWE. You cant make another Rock. You cant make another Austin. End of story.
