Happily, The used guitar I bought yesterday is very nice. It's a La Patrie Etude, made in 2003 that appears to be brand new. It needs new bass strings, but otherwise it's sweet.
Well there's quite a lot that's similar, add to that the whole thing with the electrics, making sure the pickups all work - all commonsense really ... good luck!
