  • that bitch is an ugly spider

  • She's quite the actress, isn't she? She certainly is putting up quite a show!

Unfortunately, I'm not afraid of spiders, so I just find it rather endearing. She's pretty gutsy.

  • WOAH!!! Awesome, the name really suits them.. The hissing, if that is hissing, does sound like a rattle. So cool

  • lol at all the gaylords who comment on how cruel all these tarantula videos are. its a fuckin arachnid, bozos. who gives a shit

  • I wanna get one of those. Cool to see how they get their name LOL

  • eyy neo when will the goliath be on on website?. also hahaha crazy T is even ready to fight upside down!!!

  • Can hardly wait until these get into the US hobby. I love bugs that have bravado.

  • The way those stridulate is adorable...although you can clearly tell she's really pissed LOL. Good demonstration of the stridulation though, a lot of videos will show them doing it but not a good enough closeup of them moving their chelicerae and palps. This one definitely has a good closeup and the T itself couldn't've been any more dramatic about it.

  • @IcabodCrane yeah she did play it up for the cam that is for sure, she is only a small T as well 80mm leg span.

  • @neo1530

Oh definitely, I actually use this video now as a demonstration to people how stridulating works with T's. Looks slightly bigger than 80mm on the cam, but not all that small either. I have a couple nhandus that measure about 6-8mm's tops that're a year old LOL. pretty impossible to measure them exactly because I can't even get them to show up as more than a blur on a camera, and they're too fast for measuring utensils.

  • @IcabodCrane oh ok what sort of demo you doing and what is it you do? it is good to see someone getting use out of it.

  • @neo1530 Do you happen to know the Scientific name (Genus, Species) of this tarantula?? Quite frankly, i find it a bit hard to find the exact Scientific name of this spider, especially online. BTW, Awesome video & awesome specimen you got right there mate :D I just subscribed & put a thumbs up on your exiting vid :D

  • What she doesn't like, is that you're blowing in her face, moron.

  • @realchulabx good comment fuck nose did you come up with that all by your self, if you read the details of the vid before you commented you know why i did it , tard

  • Why these stupid common names? Looks like a Selenocosmia sp.

  • @JensTwn No Australian T's are considered to fall within this genus anymore. And the stupid common names are just placeholder names until they are formally described and given a scientific name.

  • @mcreptilecom Phlogius spp. now?

  • @JensTwn Naa while that is one of the new genus it is at least well documented and so in that case the genus is used and just a placeholder species name is given (ie. Phlogius sp. 'goliath'). This one though is considered to fall within an entirely new genus by themselves and no details have yet been released by those working with them. The 'JT' tarantula is similar in this regard also having a new genus of its own. Alot of work going on with aussie t's at the moment :-).

  • i dont know where you ordered them fom because there is none available.

  • @neo1530 me???? i tryed to order them from tropical tarantulas but no one has got back to me.........im not ordering from them again... useless bastards!!!!

  • @neo1530 yes theres a few available if you know where to look. ive now got 4..

  • ive just ordered 3 of these guys and cant wait to get them.

  • aussie inverts n reptiles you can get them

  • yi have a few for sale on my web site

  • neo can i buy one of these off you?

  • Noice, looks like a barking spider we used to get in central QLD, sometimes called a bird eating spider cause they get soooo big. nice one. I have a spare fish tank you can have so she dont have to live in a plastic box.

  • Comment removed

  • @macgabreno Barking or Whistling spiders refer to all Australian T's, which span quite a few species.

The 'Bird Eating' title is thrown on by pet shops to garner additional sales.

It's kept in a plastic container in the interests of preserving space. Glass tanks offer no additional benefit for the spider.

  • Thanks ScareDevil.

  • Clearly a P. Crassipes!

  • LOL! I love when it tipped over on its back and started swimming
