We try and go every year. My father-in-law hooked us up with Tallent Guide Service for three outings now and with his recent heart surgeries it might have been at his or the guide's request for liability reasons...I seriously don't know. The Tallent folks know where the fish are and we always catch our limit by the break of dawn. We're back at the dock, fish cleaned, iced down and back on the road home by 9am. Btw, the thunderstorm was the night before...no lightnin' that morning:-)
I live in KY and enjoy watching those thunderstorms. Sure am glad I watched this video because I'm planning a trip to Lake Cumberland this summer and will steer clear of this guide service. Fished for steelhead last fall and if the guide would have told me to put the rod back in the holder, I would have asked for a refund!
Great question...at the request of the guide for his equipment. Guess he had a few go overboard. Believe me we tried to haul them out quite a few times and he quickly instructed us to put them back. But we caught some great stripers:-)

why do you leave the rod in the rod holder to bring the fish in ??????????????
