  • Nice tutorial man. One day maybe I'll pick one up. If anyone is interested check out krappy guitars. Nowhere near as good as a stick but an awesome starting place at about half the price or less. Also check out Kevin Keith. Awesome stick player.

  • Dude, you are GOOD. I can't even play poly-rhythms by stomping my feet.

  • A lot of compression on this no?

  • Hey friend, I'm (hopefully) getting close to my chapman stick purchasing phase, and I'm investigating pickup tone. Which one are you using?

  • That was good

  • can anyone tell me how much it costs a chapman stick???

i play electric guitar, but that... that is awesom.

    you are very good men

  • You must have two brains...

  • nice!

  • i love polyrhythms.. it engages "both" sides of your brain, if normal monorhythms engage only one side.. it's like doing that thing where you swing your arms in opposite directions (one clockwise, one anti-clockwise).. so not only does polyrhythmic work sound good, it works out your brain.. yay!

  • Good performance, but "bossa nova" (one of thousands brazilian rythms) must have more groove. It's sound a little squared.

  • It is also very interesting that he have 3 over melody and 4 over bass at the start. And just before he starts the main theme he switches so the melody suddenly have 4 and bass have 3!

    KoooL!

  • I count 10 strings on this 'Chapman Stick' ...is that right? 10 strings? How difficult is it to transfer the 'Chapman Stick' playing technique to the electric guitar? It sounds alot like Stanley Jordan

  • Well its playing to parts at once. So i really dont think you can do that on a guitar maybe in some minor way you could but it would be alot of changes to it.

  • @7deepbreaths-I'm a guitar player, have tried stick and believe me, if you want to play stick material, you better get a stick-they are quite different. If you develop arranging skills, you can rearrange music from any instrument/s for guitar, but it will not be the same. If you want to do polyphonic tapping, though, guitar is well suited. Ergonomically, it helps to borrow Emmett's approach, and get the neck as close to vertical as possible. Check out John Stowell's playing position.

  • Treasure your talent, so few find their path.

  • nice bro! thats a parker mojo guitar behind you?

  • im really horible at poly rythms you guys have no idea how hard this is ,, or maybe you do if you play bass or somthing

  • Try to just tap the sound you hear and ignore the fact its a polyrhythm, and then once you have a pretty solid idea of what it feels like, analyse what you're doing and you should understand it.

  • What I have done to learn poly-rhythms is create a pair of click tracks with the free program audacity, one with tempo 90 bpm, other 120 bpm. That has really helped me.

  • wow!!!!

  • Makes me want to go out and buy a Chapman Stick and learn to play. Inspiring!

  • like a pro ;) sounds amazing

  • Excellent. I look forward to hearing more from you.

  • Espectacular, Amazing! you have the touch (tenés el toque) :)

  • boa rapaz!!

    do caralho

  • That was awesome. 5/5 rating

  • Bravo!

  • how much does a chapman stick cost?

  • About $1,500-2,500k

  • And a year of waiting if you want a new one.

Its worth it though. I'm getting one as soon as I'm not poor.

  • Geeze, I have a bitch of a time with 3:4.

    Nicely done.

    Now play something in 7:8!

  • Awesome! I didn't know the Stick was this popular =D

  • Really effective
