  • Really I don't know. I was taught this form in the far 1990 by my Xingyi teacher from Suzhou, Yu Yongxi. In the years I have seen different forms similar to this (some movements are also in the Dao form of He Jinbao) .

  • looks nice. But I feel that it lacks of body coordination. I thought bagua sabers were supposed to be veeery heavy so that you can't just move your arm to move the blade, so that you create a strong link throughout your body...

  • Yes, the real bagua broadsword is very heavy and while you have to use all the body, really you have to use wrist, shoulder and elbow in some segments. Naturally the movements have to be grounded and using waist.Here, with a wooden sword, this is not really apparent. Asiaticus
