I will issue concealed weapons permits (CCW) to any applicant who is a law abiding resident of the county, meets state mandated requirements and is not prohibited by law from possessing a firearm. I will depoliticize the process and establish an annual audit to review each application to ensure the process is unbiased, non-political and equitable.
I consider personal protection sufficient to meet the standard of good cause.

My Idea is that folks be able to be certified and voluntarily receive without restriction or expiration, a form of a CCW No government body has true authority to regulate gun ownership KEY WORD VOLUNTEER.

I didn't know he was that popular. Gotta love it. A real Constitutional origionalist running for Sheriff in the fourth largest Sheriff's Department in the nation!
He is still saying he'll issue a CCW. That is asking for permission. If we have the RIGHT to bear arms then we don't have to ask for permission from the government. A RIGHT means that we can just do it with out asking. If he wants to really support the Constitution he will say "no to busting people for nonviolent gun crimes." Because that would be protecting our RIGHTS.
I have to disagree especially if you don't know what we are fighting against. Orange County is almost completely restricted unless you are hand picked by the appointed Sheriff Sandra Hutchens. What Bill is saying is that anyone with in the law that meets the requirements he will issue them a CCW. Many gun owners have been fighting for this basic right for a while. Props to Bill for actually standing up and doing something about it!
We need more Sheriffs to counter The evil that is going on in the white house and beyond.
We need 2 Sheriff s for every one ZAR and "CORRUPTED" Congressmen, Judges, that think they are GOD! We the People want LAW and the American way restored to our country!
