You said in another post that it took you 17 weeks to carve out your abs to the degree seen in this video.
What was your starting weight, waist circumference, and body fat percentage? I know some people don't meticulously track that sort of information, but I did when I lost the fat. I'm curious as to how much progress you were able to make during that period of time.
Regrardless, the results are fantastic, but the journey intrigues me.
I started at 189 this time. On this video I was 180 moving down to 160ish. I started this time in the beginning of April and tried to move at a slower pace. It's been nearly 40 weeks. I've had vacations ect come up that have set me back slightly. However, I'm finally there again. I'll post the video I took today if I can.
So during this 40 week period, were you doing daily cardio (45 min, 65-75% MHR)? I know you said you had some interruptions, but 40 weeks is a pretty long time. Was your training routine the same?
As far as working out goes. I don't agree with the comment of high reps light weight. You have to strengthen and thicken the muscle underneath for it to protrude. I currently pull (deadlift) over twice my bw, On the bench and front squat nearly 1.5 times my bw as well. I'm sorry, I don't know what my bicep size is, not large..i'm not a big person.
I posted my workout and diet a few threads down. If it's not on this vid look for it on the other one. I only have 3 vids so it's not hard to find. I'm currently doing Crossfit (again) and doing a standard 2x a week weight routine of the basic movements deads/squats. I weighed 162 the other day, down from 189 when I was injured. I'll note that I am currently experimenting with my diet at the present time. For the past 2 weeks I have been following 40/30/30 c/p/f ratio.
I did use lipo 6 in the beginning in combination with my diet and routine. I haven't touched it in nearly 2 months and I continue to drop bodyfat. I've even experimented with drinking two servings of chocolate milk pre and post workout. Sometimes I'll add a little protein depending on the intensity of the session.
In the beginning I was doing it daily, first thing in the morning for 45 min. 65-75% MHR. Now, the only time I might do cardio is on Sunday morning because I had a cheat meal on Saturday. It helps get rid of the bloat.
Blindedbythelight, he said in an earlier post that it took him about 17 weeks to get that lean, owing to the fact that he let himself "go" for awhile.
That's true. This past time Xmas 08, my g/f thought it would be a great idea for me to eat everything. What can I say, she wouldn't stop making cookies for me (weakness). In 3 weeks I went from 165 to 189. Fast forward to NOW and I am just now finally back to the same condition or close to the video.
If u wanna get ripped like that stick to a good diet, i would suggest doing higher reps n lesser/lighter weight. Do a good amount of cardio to get a low body fat % for muscles to show more defined/chiseled. And very important DO GOOD FORM. I see alot of ppl in gym that can lift a shit load of weight but bad form, thats nice if u wanna be strongman but if ur going for the physique pay attention to how u flex ur muscle and the right/proper movements.
I never allow the fat to go over 5 grams on this meal..on the protein/fat meals 1-4 I never allow the carbs to go over 5 for them as well. I drink a gallon of water with a touch of lemon juice added, this helps cut grease and keeps the skin tight while cutting. Supplement wise: besides flax seed oil, I use L-carnitine, ALA and Lipo 6.
I have a protein/dextrose blend generally around 34/63 in ratio. I time myself for 15 min and consume it over that period. After I'm finished I set the clock again for 90 min. and have the same macro ratio 34/63 except in the form of solid food. Being that it's protein/carbs I once again utilize chicken but with oatmeal.
Diet doesn't equal starve. I eat six times a day. I do cardio every morning first thing, 45min. 65-75% of my MHR. Don't jog, do something low impact ie; ride a bike, treadmill, eliptical. Invest in a HR monitor, I use Polar. I've had the same one for two years, they're a great brand. Regarding diet. I eat 4 meals prior to training in the evening. They consist of protein/fat..usually 45/15 ratio. I utilize chicken/almonds for the solid meals, protein/flax seed oil for the shakes. After I train..
Thanks for the comments. I haven't posted anything new in awhile. I broke my elbow and had an issue with high blood pressure from the added weight gain. I've been training and dieting and will look to post something again around the end of June/first of July.
I want to ask you a question...i TRY all these diets but i tend to give up. I cant jog w/ water, i need gatorade or powerade, i need the sugar, and i cant just eat salads...i need rice and meat and soup and all, i feel like diet = starve

yea, if your skiny u will show abs, however there not goin to pop out unless u do abb training. like i just turned 13 and i have n 8 pack slowly going to 12 but there not popping.
Just through diet (not starving) and cardio. It takes me around 17 weeks to get my abs like that. I have a tendency to let myself go in between and blow up lol...
That's fair.. I had more muscle when I was doing a straight weightlifting routine. I switched over to Crossfit and my arms and chest while still remaining lean decreased some.
fucking hell...

How much cardio do you do? I'd kill to have abs like that. I have a six pack but I'm still like 6% body fat so it's nowhere near defined like that
