@munkych33z Wash refers to the amount of overtone that the cymbal will produce. A drier sounding cymbal won't have as much overtone/ ringing upon attack or striking. Search for K Custom dark dry or dark ride, and compare the difference in sound quality, I think it'll make more sense to you that way.
I love it; probably one of the best cymbals I've ever heard, if it wasn't for that damn wash. I know its a liquid ride, but I just can't work with that overpowering wash.
@Paintballnation584 if you knew a little bit about traditional drumming, you would know that china cymbals were origionally used by jazz players and they used them as a trashy ride cymbal. they were mounted like that before they were mounted when played by rock drummers, so really, you can mount them either way and neither is "wrong" or upside down.
@Ramen1020 Funfact: Some china cymbals were designed like clash-cymbals for chinese marching bands about 800 years ago. They held one china by the bell in each hand and smashed them together. Like the Wuhan Chinas. ^^
I *LOVE* this ride, it's my #1 ride by far. I use it in most every situation.

Sabian do make some of the world's best cymbals. Try find a good video of the paiste blue bell ride. Very similar sounds but still both are killer
phatphace 2 years ago
@phatphace I have both of those rides and they are worlds apart.
