As a general rule I fish with a 4lb tippet and very rarely go heavier mate..except at night time when I may go to 8lb.

Awesome video! What lbs test (leader) do you use usually when fishing for trout? I'm thinking of getting a fly rod, but I just don't know what lbs. leader should I use.

@wenzealand it's pretty stock standard mate, no bling..but it is tied differently from the commercial pattern
