  • the game get out the 20 mars for U.S and 23 mars for europe

  • u can kick off buildings? sick

  • Cockpit cam !

  • i need chromehounds 2 :(

  • @Kiikko98 amen to that!

  • REQUESTING COCKPIT CAM!!!

  • When a player is this bad, it makes the whole thing unwatchable.

  • I just hope Namco wouldn't screw up the good games again, but I can see it's already screwed up from the point that AC isn't centered on screen

  • @asianferret Okay, FROM said before they even HAD a publisher that they were going to change the camera angle. It wasn't Namco's decision, and it's such a miniscule change that it's the LAST thing I'd get butthurt about if I were you.

  • @WumboWarrior I see... but I still hope Namco won't screw it up. Recent games from Namco are really bad, comparing to the past product. Like Ace Combat and Ridge Racer, classic one was good until now. (Specially Ace Combat, it looks a lot like a H.A.W.X., and Ridge Racer looks more like a Burnout.)

  • @asianferret Hmm... I haven't really played any of the games Namco publishes, though I've heard good things about Ace Combat. I played the 5th one I think, and I liked that, but I haven't played the older titles. Who knows? Their games seem to be really solid though. I admit there's a few things in Armored Core V I'm apprehensive about, but FROM has done such a good job lately that I'm not too worried about Namco. Though I do think FROM shoulda stuck with Atlus. They were perfect for them.

  • @WumboWarrior Oh no, I love Namco, I just USED to love them. Their classic title or past few year's were excellent. I love Ace Combat 5,6 and Ridge Racer weren't that bad either. (although I love Ridge Racer 4 Type 4 the best.) It's just a recent titles that will be coming up. Namco team has changed or something.

And I have to agree, Fromsoftware and Atlus works the best. Perhaps FROM should have teamed up with Konami's Kojima team at least, since Metal Gear had similar taste.

  • @asianferret namco is not making armored core. they jus publish it out for release. ridger racer unbounded is not made by namco anymore. they let western company make it.

  • @WumboWarrior That's not a small change at all especially because all AC games prior to this have been Fixed center. It will completely change the dimensions on your tv that you fly in, probably making it more difficult to Dodge oncomming fire, especially since the levels on AC5 are on a smaller scale as well asmore detailed.

  • @TylerTibbe An examlple of this used in this video would be when the AC is ALL the way to the left in the video, since it is so far over to that side of the screen you can't see what is next to you, limiting options when an obstacle gets in the way of you flying. If it were fixed in the center you would have had a longer window to make a decision of how to avoid the obstacle comming at you or how to use it to your advantage.

  • @asianferret Oh, thats good... wait, RR isn't from Namco anymore...? What? WHHHHAAAAAAAA

  • So any word on when this game is coming out?

I'm itching to play this game after I lost my save file+ all my schematics on for answer.

  • @banoka08 Well they pushed out the Japanese release to early 2012, so I'm willing to bet a US release in Summer 2012.

  • would this game still have 2player?

  • why does it look like its over the shoulder like gears of war

what happened to the old style of playing

dont tell me they screwed this up

i have been waiting for this for so long

    this is a huge disappointment

  • @oduneyeman They said back before they even showed any gameplay that the camera would be different. It looks like it's going back to the old style rather than ACfA. It looks like a huge improvement over ANY previous AC game. I am not complaining.

  • @WumboWarrior I did see a new gameplay video and the view did look very good

but still I guess its a matter of opinion because I still like the old style better.

  • @oduneyeman Well... I was hoping it was going to be slower-paced like the old ps2 games, but with more solid and polished gameplay. The gameplay still looks fun, but it looks too fast-paced still... I don't feel any weight to the ACs. Oh well.

  • Armored Core 5 1971

  • I want the old controls BACK!!!

  • OMG, they make this thing jump like amillion times.

  • Why the AC's got them.. stubby little legs for?

  • This looks like a mix between Ac4/Fa and the originals. But i honestly think Acfa is still better. But i still like the old series too. This game i still worth a try and yes i am not a huge fan of shooters.

  • Can they find a better player to test this out?

  • All I understood was parameters and game balance.......

  • fuck this... the GC is awesome but game SUCKSSSSSS!!!

  • @maquiabello1 It's a fantastic series. It looks like it will play very fluidly. What makes it look bad to you?

  • @WumboWarrior Well, graphics is never as important as the gameplay. Think of pacman or supermario.

  • @Ipporules Those aren't shooters. Shooters need superb graphics.

They delayed the game, let's hope thye deliver, I'd really like a top notch mech game.

  • @Sagramorbald Dunno man. Halo CE is still a great game today, and the graphics sucks. Of course it's fun when you have an awesome game with awesome graphics, but gameplay makes the game.

  • @Ipporules Sure, there are great games with bad graphics, but the shooter market is too competitive and crowded. Halo would not be a hit if, when launched, it had bad graphics.

Remember, when this game hits we'll be playing Battlefield 3. Not easy to look good compared to it.

  • @maquiabello1 Just cause the player sucks doesn't mean the game sucks.

  • @maquiabello1 Looks like someone isn't very good at playing the AC games.

  • @maquiabello1 >BAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWW I WANT GRAPHICS

    Seriously, shut up.

  • I'm dying to play this damn game

  • well the game looks like its going to have the ac 1,2,3 kind of feel

  • i hope AC NineBall still remains in this AC5.. :)

  • Dude that GORDON4U things scared me I was thinking it was actually showing up on my computer thinking "who the heck is hackin me!" haha

  • Compared to the previous tiles on the PS3 this one is bringing back the nostalgic hit & run tactics employable in the games before. Last Raven (booster heat factor was a joke). They're adding many new things, but also bringing back some old ideas.

Add Armor (discontinued after PS2 AC games)-> Brought back

Upgrade weapon/tuning system (pretty sure most of this is from Chromehounds)

Tactical gaming w completely agreeable speeds (no zippy zip dogde like in ACFA)

    Actual Sniping (ty Chromehounds!

  • @Direwolf13PS3 Chromehounds had some great elements. It's good to see some are being implemented here.

  • @WumboWarrior Indeed, though the fact it was an Xbox exclusive game kept me from playing it. Not to mention regardless of how good the game looked, it felt like Mechwarrior with the higher end customization seen in Armored Core, which made sense because it was made by From Software. To be honest though the mechs looked rather ugly to me ;P, but with Armored Core V its nice to see the sniping element from Chromehounds here, ACFA opened the door for the cheapest tactics Ive ever seen.

  • @WumboWarrior What I mean is the fact that someone could strap two back Sniper Cannons or Railguns to a lightweight (PHACT) and blast you away while dodging everything in a blazing strobe light of afterburner wash. Or you had people strapping the dual Heavy Chain Guns, (which stun locked if two rounds hit you at once) for the same effect. From what I can see maps will be big enough to actually plan out battles, and the machines don't move anything like Aretha from AC4's boss thank god

  • @Direwolf13PS3 ill agree with you on that one. When i first saw Aretha QB side to side i was like, "Bull****!"

  • @allthatishere Well considering (from what you see in the cut-scene after beating it) it appears to have six or more side/back/main boosters which each are larger than the average NEXT's giving it a dozen or more times the thrust seen in a normal NEXT. And its armament overall was sad, a slow charging cannon, and a quintuple Vulcan gun, nothing great.

  • @Direwolf13PS3 That's assuming that the boosters use the same system. Kojima Boosters were stupid powerful and only needed two, plus two in the legs to propel an AC upwards of 2000kmph.

These, assuming they are much less powerful, would need more boosters to propel something half the size.

But I can't wait to see what new types of weapons they come out with. I'm hoping for flamethrowers, and (Prepares for flames) Handheld melee weapons.

  • @SuperRoboSquadron There are full size pictures of the Aretha, it has Six main boosters, and a multitude of add-boosters on its arms. The Unit goes so fast that its head had to be fixed in place (i.e. no rotation).

  • @Direwolf13PS3 Right. And It used Kojima Boosters. And it was about 1.5 times the size of a regular NEXT. Plus, it was a Super Prototype Boss NEXT. The 4th Gen equivalent (dare I say?) to Nineball Seraph (Who had his regular boosters, then some extra ones on his legs, the those two back weapons. And he could transform into a jet.) And I think it's just the massively overpowered Quick Boost that made it so fast. It's regular boost speed was nothing special. Multi-Gatling Gun was trollgun, though.

  • @SuperRoboSquadron I'm an idiot. I thought you were talking about the AC in the video. Not the Aretha.

  • @WumboWarrior i just hope that not all the ACs have the chubbies like some of these do, one of the nice things from games like Nexus was that there were at least some ACs with a slender, sleek look to them

  • @aracaen Well they're trying to go with designs that "feel" more grounded in reality. With that, it doesn't mean that there arent lightweight fast designs, but I don't think there will be many, if any, parts with a sleek design.

  • @WumboWarrior Lets hope hey have blades. And if QB is X what about weapons?

  • @Direwolf13PS3 are they bringing back the 'Make & Train your own CPU' feature from silent line?

  • @CascadeFreak Not quite. Take the speed from ACFA, balance it in the middle of it and AC4, add a feature that allows you to jump and rebound off building's (feels like Gundam), add sniping (Chromehounds), remove back cannons and replace them with a fast weapon swapping system. Add team based MP combat with intelligent reconnaissance, and give the player the ability to upgrade his weaponry and armor. Overall it seems like this could be just what AC needs to finally get a larger fanbase.

  • @CascadeFreak Granted they are going to lose some fans with how bulky many of the designs look, and without a Kawamori-esk posterchild the intro leaves people waiting to see just what other designs are in the game. The official site's "screenshot" section only shows one lightweight schematic so far, and thats only when it isnt upgraded (starts to look very clunky). Frankly I hope they have something to match the sleekness of the Alliyah or Lahire designs, or a least a "Oracle" esk one.

  • @Direwolf13PS3 Chromehounds didn't have weapon tuning. You could just pick which ammo type.

  • Or do you?

  • old school Armored Core was way more strategic. using overboost to get in for a saber slice or get out of heavy traffic. rockets taking more damage than missiles but having no lock on capability. energy weapons and the mechs designed to be most effective with them. yall remember.....................

  • correction: WumboWarrior has a valid point.

  • Silverking has a valid point. yall remember Armored core 2? I personally feel that was how the mechanics of the game should've remained.

  • CHROME HOUNDS SEQUEL! NAO!

  • Did he just dynamic entry the hell out of that tank?

    GAME MINE!

  • This looks great. Cant wait for a new mecha game. FME was quite the disappointment

  • @cncinwow Myes. I couldn't even customize my Wanzer with what parts I wanted after unlocking and buying them all. So much for an Enyo with (The Sniper Wanzers from the final missions)'s arms and legs. Nope. You get Zephyr EX and like it!

  • @SuperRoboSquadron Good lord I know what you mean. It was ALRIGHT, I suppose.... I don't know why I was expecting customization at a similar level of Armored Core, even after playing previous Front Mission games. Not to mention the way it worked in multiplayer was terribly unbalanced...

  • LOL, they are playing this on XBOX360! Do japanese people even know what this is? :D

  • Anyone else think the new HUD sucks? I'd hate to see a bad hud ruin an otherwise sweet game.

  • @hoxorz I'm sure the hud will be customizable...

  • @chase19b4 All other AC games, you could change the hud a little, but it mostly involved adding/removing gauges. This one, for some reason everything is in the middle of the screen.... I don't see why it's not on the sides.

  • @hoxorz I don't really see anything bad about a dynamic HUD, though. It's really favorable for projector screens, because it prevents burning.

I'm sure it'll still be customizable though.

  • I can't wait! I have always been a fan even if I am not that good.

  • silverking56. yah thats my fear too. but im sure it will be fine. personally I'm going to hire my self off as a merc for a while to get used to it...even though im a armored core veteran, I'm going to need to get some practice before getting in to it

  • Chrome hounds 2 = AC V? hmm

  • this game series is the best i have ever played i want to play armored core 4, for answer, and v

  • I wonder u can't hear the girl panicking at every little thing in this one, its a nice change that was so annoying

  • @spiritreapr Cuz she wasn't commentating this one lol

  • o.O IT LOOKS COOL!!! :O!!!!! cant wait for it to come out DX!!! and is that wat all maps will b like o.O?? AH WHO CARES AC5 LOOKS WAY TOO AWESOME!!!!

  • @0blivionShadow My hope is that the final game will feature more variety in environments rather than pure city/urban ones, but if not I won't be disappointed. I am way too excited for this game.

  • @WumboWarrior

I think this is just a demo city. The game is probably still alpha, and this may not even be the latest build.

  • @WumboWarrior My only fear about this game is that eventually the online squad matches will become to frustrating for newer players who start late, or the Americans who battle Japanese. The skill level will be majorly different, and could deter players, in my opinion.

  • @SilverKing56 This is possible, but what I'm worried might be more likely is that with such a large part roster it's possible the game could be broken. This happened with Chromehounds and essentially broke how the game was meant to be played originally.

  • @WumboWarrior yeah with all that stupid triple double shit and how people would cover their hounds body piece with armor plates and barely any guns, and everybody used the same designs. i loved chromehounds but nobody played it right

  • @GasPainStudios Lol you said it. It was meant to be a class-based strategy-based mech game. In the first week of release it was pretty fun because everyone was playing it the way it was MEANT to be played. After everyone figured out how to break it, it got pretty pathetic. I'd like to see a sequel to chromehounds, but only if they fix that.
