He puts on great matches (which unfortunately few others do these days). In the era hogan came up in (the 80's) if you were a big muscled up freak you people for some reason believe you were tough. That's why his gimmick got over so well. If hogan started in the 90's he'd never have touched it because he was crap in the ring

This was truly the last time we saw HBK play his heel role to this extend and it was only because Hogan insisted on a classic babyface vs heel feud.
