my pony used to do this with me when we were going over a jump that had flowers over it (she thought they were going to eat her or something) it would be a 3 foot jump and she would jump the thing like it was a 4 foot fence! That fall looked like it hurt A LOT!!!!! It's never fun when you run into a wall...

lol. I had a lesson today and the horse I rode did this to me over 3 ground poles. But i didn't fall off because he didn't bolt after the jump. It's good to see that you were wearing a helmet though.

My TB only does this with raised poles lol. Like the two poles together with one laid on top. He'll jump them grand prix style. Lol I've never fallen off of him though.

Hhahahaa that's what my horse did the first time I put a PVC pipe down for her to walk over, she proceeded to jump over it first. Luckily I was on the ground leading her when she did this so neither of us got hurt.

My brother's filly did that when she was two and we were breaking her out. She was crossing a small drainage stream from a pond and reared straight up and jumped it. It's funny how they do that; two foot stream, or in your case, beam, and they way over-do it.

Ow, when the video goes in slow motion watching you land on his back and then being slammed into the wall that had to hurt!!! I've riden a pony like that I took him to a show called Hickory Top in Columbia Sc yeah about that........... lol btu he has jumped grids like spreads, he thinks a 12" jump (Maybe a little smaller) and he jump probably 2 and half feet higher then the actual jump I'm not kidding, however the jumps was amazing, he arched over them perfectly it's amazing, Oh and he's 12hh:)

I have had the pleasure of eating a wall like that too. I was trotting Dancer at a local horse ring and he just freaked out and bucked and ran at the wall, he then did a sideways slide and I slammed into the wall sliding off like pancake batter lol

Oh youch! Falling into a wall musta hurt! Lol didn't you see the jump? I mean, it was huge! (In Ozzy's eyes, anyway lol). Outa curiosity, is he scared of ground poles? My horse is (guessing that due to the way he acts, and a scar he has, he probably had a bad experience in the past), but he's never tried jumping them... just refuses to stand over them, back over them, and if I walk him over them, he gets away from them as fast as he can... lol

@LilMissForgottenHope He actually is quite nervous about ground poles. To this day, he'd rather jump a 3' fence than work over ground poles. It seems to be worse in indoor rings than outdoor rings. I'm pretty sure the shadowing freaks him out.

@LilMissForgottenHope what would help getting him over the ground polls is walking him over it and let him see you walk over it first so he knows its not going to jump up and kill him so to speak lol and if he makes a big move over them dont make a big deal about it just take him over it until he calms down or make him back over the poll calmly. When your walking over them make him stop right over the poll and relax then walk off calmly
