This is so beautiful and your filming is fabulous - thank you!! Blackbirds have the most beautiful voices and they are such noble-looking creatures!!
(A blackbird chased me out of the garden last summer!! I think he think I was in his territory! I fed him and then he disappeared...but he came back for the first time today and he must think it is already spring, though we are due for a Siberian winter this week!)
They are one of the most beautiful song birds on earth, relaxing and a cherish song from this male Blackbird. It sings likely in summer time , my canary is relaxing by hearing it so am I.
I don't know if Blackbirds migrate? Ours certainly stay all year round, and I make sure there is food out for them through the winter, as they only really sing in the spring & summer months.
I know they're not the most colourful birds, but I love to hear them!
@DonegalRaymie201 According to Bill Oddie, blackbirds only migrate from the colder northern countries of Scandinavia in winter to the UK and places of a similar climate. I don't think British and Irish blackbirds migrate :-
This video makes me happy and sad - it's howling a gale outside, spring evenings seem a hundred years away. Blackbirds remind me of sitting in the garden at my parents house listening to them singing on the roof tops. It's the loveliest sound in the world :).
Thanks for posting (the cats appreciated it too!).
@ruthroses1 Yes, they are beautiful, and I very much rather listen to a blackbird singing rather than a motorway, but it's just that when I get to see them for too long, I become so mad... I have no idea why. :S
Oh I love their singing! We have a looooots and lots of Blackbirds in Sweden, spotted woodpecker too! ^^ Every morning you can hear the blackbirds sing! It's so amazing to wake up to it!
I miss this so much! I play this video often as I live on Guam, where 90% of bird population is gone due to brown tree snake and there is no singing ever...
this is really so lovely reminds me of living at home listening to this in my garden and reminds me of my mum the blackbird would start singing in the summer just before it got dark just like this beautiful ! junysawrusx
We always have friendly blackbirds in our garden. This has been going on for over 10 years now and their young learn to approach us to be fed each year, some get very tame it's unbelievable how close they get to you and follow you about the garden.
i love blackbirds. a mad blackbird got attacked in my back garden off a magpie but 3 other blackbirds came over and hawnered the initial blackbird. fuckin magpie was double the size of any 1 of the blackbirds but size doesnt matter when you have heart!
Although we have beautiful birds in Canada, and the American Robin has a similar song, I still get a lump in my throat when I hear this beautiful songbird, of which I had many in my UK back garden during my childhood!
they are more ignoring each other and the blackbird sings of that he lives here and how his surroundings sound and that the other blackbird males should back off.
I love listening to garden birds. So they start tweeting away at 4.00am on some days but so what? It is called the dawn chorus. There are pair of blackbirds who live in the trees in my garden and I see them most days. Just a couple of days ago the male blackbird was feeding his chicks bits of bread and it was lovely to watch. One of the chicks flew on to the the bird bath and seemed quite content.
does anyone know how to scare them away, i now hate the noise they make as they wake me up every morning at 4 am, just one sits near my window and the sound is deafening. the noise continues all day and i get no peace.
@superara1 bahahaha! You are the one who is sick, coming on here and complaining about birds singing???? I hope you die a horrible death - maybe getting pecked to death by penguins LOL!

"Black bird singing in the dead of night, take thease broken wings and learn to fly, all your life, you were only waiting for this moment to arise." -Paul McCartney
I love the black bird! I had the pleasure of staying in Harlow, England a few years back and every morning I would hear a blackbird calling in a church yard next to the place where I was staying. I reminded me of waking up to American Robins here at home. Glad to see you got a Blue Tit in there as well! I was told to keep an eye out for them...but never got to see one.
I prefer the Blackbird song to that of the Nightingale. I suspect the Nightingale was so popular with the Romantics because of its name - "Ode to a Blackbird" does not sound quite as impressive as "Ode to a Nightingale"!
i love these creatures, there's loads here and theyre not too shy and make sunsets and settings beautifull :D actually there's one right now doing the same hehe
I just commented to a neighbor yesterday about hearing a birdsong at about 5pm that I can't remember hearing before. Didn't see the bird. This could be it.
My on-heat cat Lady Milly who's generally mad as a March Cat went totally ballistic when I downloaded and played this when she was in my room - she thinks it's ME !!

Just wonderful! One of the best blackbird songs I ever heard recorded. Everything about your video is fabulous. Thankyou so much.
(Please everyone, keep your cats indoors for the nesting season, so many nests in my garden have been ravaged by neighbours' cats.)Our songbirds have enough problems without domestic felines.
Tank you! This is an fantastic recording. We also got blackbirds in the garden during the summertime, and we really love this bird. They are coming back here at the first days of March as the very first returning birds in the spring.
Last summer was the very first time we heard the blackbird singing sitting at the ground. Amazing.

i love this, blackbird song has always been my favourite. we live right by some woods and i often hear them... really soothing, thanks for posting this :)
I love blackbirds but we haven't seen any since the Spring... It's late Autumn now :S Is there anyway we can attract them again? We've always put bread, apples, pears, suet, peanuts and seeds out but no luck. Also we normally get a green woodpecker but I haven't seen that either :S
When I was a boy, we used to live in the country and we had a massive oak tree in the garden. All through the summer months we had this wonderful black bird song. Mr Blackbird used to be singing at his loudest during the evening - just before twilight. Every time a I listen to this delightful video I am taken back to those days… The best things in life are free!
i love this video,we have blackbirds here in australia and as an introduced bird they are apparently a pest but i like them anyway. There is one who sits outside my window every morning at 6.00 am and this is what i hear and i just love it he sounds beautiful.
@mynamespoppa Lucky you! They are a rarity here in the UK now. When my parents moved into our family home 30 years ago, it was a bird's paradise as the house hadn't been lived in for 2 years and the garden fully overgrown. I loved exploring the garden for the birds and their song (thrushes, blackbirds, tits, starlings and sparrows). Truly beautfiul - have never heard so much birdsong since (all except pigeons are rare)....due to the bloody M25 (ever expanding) at the bottom of the garden.

I love birds, although we have not many birds in the gardens right now, last years we had many, but there were no more there during all the summer and right now a few ones are coming again. Perhaprs I shall get some birds coming to us if I play often your video!
Ola senhor Fernando. Great video, congratulations. My "MELRO" past away in march, I loved that bird but that's life. I love the singing of the "melro" and "TENTILHAO". Hugs from this new friend of yours. cheers, João

Thanks for making and posting.

Ola senhor Fernando. Great video, congratulations. My "MELRO" past away in march, I loved that bird but that's life. I love the singing of the "melro" and "TENTILHAO". Hugs from this new friend of yours. cheers, João
