falieson, Facebook connect is centralised. That is good if you trust them and if the service they provide is what you want, but otherwise its no good. And there are many businesses for which that is not an option. Think of these industries: - health - government - army - research - police

etc. All these would benefit from an open social network. The Social Web is much bigger that all the social networks combined.

With FacebookConnect facebook has become a centralized place to keep all of your data and solves the issues of taking your friends and biography info. with you from website to website.

I wish Facebook made it easier for you to search for content, and find past content that users have generated. Facebook also used to have a nice timeline feature which has been lost. You can publish data from many other websites to your Facebook feed - this again allows you to have all your data in one place.
