This is NOT Pink Floyd...This is ROGER WATERS. ..Live in Berlin... Also onstage are members of The Band- Rick Danko, Levon Helm, and Garth Hudson.... & the Rundfunk Orchestra & Choir, guitar solos by Rick DiFonzo & Snowy White.
@MrMrtapeguy, not sure what you mean. Maybe you don't fully appreciate the weight of the location of this performance, the meaning of the song, the performers on stage. This is a powerful, devastating performance. Listen to the music of Van Morrison, The Band, Pink Floyd. Read about the Berlin Wall, Communism, the threats to the World following World War II, the enormity of the breach of that Wall...then come back and listen to this again.
@jwickham65 Sorry, not diminishing the weight of the location or meaning of the song. I just don't care for the way it sounds. As far as I'm concerned Gilmour is the main ingredient of Floyd to start with and over the years that seems to be the sentiment. I love this song, just not this rendition and particularly the harmonies, that's all.
@pcburgh01 Agreed. I get so tired of these losers on YouTube who add nothing to these great vids. They are not worthy to wipe the arses of these musicians but at a few keystrokes we have to hear their crap. I'm starting to understand what all the mature people told me about having to live in the same world as these tossers.
Van the Man! Van's drawl and falsetto adds sooo much to an already perfect song. I love Pink Floyd, but this version is by far the most moving... Van's vocals are simply otherworldly.
As for the comments about Roger turning to the audience to lipsync, you should notice that all the vocals are off... I've seen the DVD many times - its just the transfer.
This was one of the most prolific concerts in history, on the site of the Berlin Wall that had fallen a year before.
why is roger waters giving the audience his back or singin like that ?i think his lypsincing?is in't he?. but mr. van morrison and the rest of the music legends sound fucking beutiful REALLY talk about the riff up stairs....this an epic performance....The Departed.
Absolutely LOVE Van Morrison......Ever since Gloria and Here Come the NIght.....back in the mid 60's....yes he's older...but he can still do it right....great job.
Many Thanks, I knew I should have recognised at least a couple of them ashamed I never knew Andy Dairweather Low I'm old enough to remember him first time round And I'm totally Ashamed of myself for not recognising Snowy White, (and I've got the cheek to call myself a Thin Lizzy Fan :o
Worse still I've actually got this video, and never took too much notice of who's who, I will now go and hide my face in shame
Can't help but spot Van Morrison, but did anyone else noptice Sir James GaGlaway on the Flute at 1:13, and does anyone know who the rest of the line up ate? I know The Scorpions were the House Bband but who is everuone on this song,? Ifeel as though I should recognise more of them than I do
This is NOT Pink Floyd... It is roger waters and friends... Van Morrison does this well... and yes the Gilmour replacement is poor at best especially when Cyndi Lauper comes over and humps his leg and he looks at her like street trash.. get the video "Roger Waters - The Wall -'90 in Berlin"
Canzone di alto spessore...canzone che ha fatto storia. Questa versione è spettacolare, ma il vero assolo di chitarra è solo e soltanto di David Gilmour.
@ HuDaFuk Gilmore did not perform at this show. At the time, Roger Waters, who wrote the words and music and the Band, Pink Floyd, were at odds. Waters put the show together without the members of the band and with an all star band. Performing with Van Morrison are members of The Band. Roger Waters's impressive house band (led by guitarist Rick DiFonzo and organ wizard Nick Glennie-Smith), with everyone from the Scorpions to Joni Mitchell to the Military Orchestra of the Soviet Army.

Gotta be honest, the solo in this doesn't shine a light on Gilmore. And I don't mean that as in these guys are shit, because they aren't, it just shows how amazing Gilmore's playing is.
